Trump blatantly lies about having Memphis Mayor's support for sending in the National Guard.

Looks like the pathological lying "Liar-in-Chief" strikes again. I wonder if there has ever been a single day in the adult life of Trump that he hasn't told a lie.
Now, Trump was correct in the fact that he does have the support of Governor Bill Lee. Then again, Bill Lee is simply another gutless Trumpublican, so that isn’t any surprise.

Trump made the announcement during an appearance on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends,” saying he has the support of both the mayor of Memphis and the Tennessee governor.

Right- based on his rationale for sending in the NG, it makes more sense to send it to a city with higher crime rates.

But the concept of sending in he NG to fight crime is inherently stupid.

So both points make complete sense.

Is the NG in Memphis? Is it in Chicago? It's not the left crying.
 
Memphis is a mess and we try avoiding the city as much as possible. Roads are narrow, street signs are a mess, it is crowded and chaotic.
None of that will be fixed by sending in the NG.
Of course everyone might feel safer with authorities around but isn't that just a bandage and not a fix? Think people driving properly when there's a cop car around.
What will happen? Criminals will lay low or take their business elsewhere, possibly into our neck of the woods.
When everything seems rosy and the NG leaves, Trump will thump his chest, MAGAs will be so proud, everything will return to business as usual. Crooks return with a smile.
 
It's not JUST maga that is the problem.

TONS of CHRISTIANS are cheering GIGANTIC CentGov overreach because they think Trump is gonna push Christianity everywhere (as he acts more like satan than Jesus while on the Mount).
 
Except posse comitatus will have been violated and the nation will be the worse for it.

This mindset that everything has to be the greatest really annoys me.
Films always have to have taglines like "The greatest action film of the decade" or "The most tense thriller ever!!!" as if anything less is unacceptable.

I really enjoy the Resident Evil series of films but I know full well they're terrible.
They know they're shit and just don't care and just go with them being fun, turn your brain off films to enjoy they aren't some social comentary about the horrors of a future tech gone wild.

Sometimes I just want to watch a 7/10 film and relax.
 
So? Who cares whether he has the support of the mayor or not? Let's clean up the high crime.

Yes fold. The Tennessee NG is under the control of the Governor not the President. He could have called them in if he felt they were needed but he has never ever, suggested such a thing. Trump couldn't go into Chicago and he needed a place to go, especially with all the backlash about Memphis being worse than Chicago, so he folded to Trump's pressure and let Trump make this a political stunt rather than anything at all to do with crime. As we can see the Trump base took the bait hook line and sinker.
