Lindsey Graham's message for Trump: "Rise above it if you can"Sen. Lindsey Graham, a strong Trump ally in Congress, just tweeted that he's "never seen anybody treated this way."
The tweet comes just hours after Trump held a surprise speech in the Rose Garden, where he slammed Democrats and their pursuit of investigations into him.
I have a lot of sympathy for President Trump. I've never seen anybody treated this way.

All I would say is try to rise above it if you can. The country is looking for leadership. We need leadership.

Graham told CNN that he is sympathetic to Trump’s frustration but that the President should rise above and get some things done on spending and infrastructure.

Last night, Trump sent a message to the two leaders of the Democrats, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. In this message, Trump made it clear to them that if they refuse to support a new trade pact with Mexico and Canada that he would not do anything regarding passing an infrastructure bill. This is how a gangster operates. But then, Trump has lived his entire life as a gangster.

Now, Trump has threatened to do absolutely nothing unless all the investigations just go away. For people that weren't involved much in politics back in 1998, there were ongoing impeachment investigations in the House and Senate against Bill Clinton. Nevertheless, Bill Clinton was still open to working with Congress to pass some very significant legislation including a trade agreement with China, a summit with Putin and negotiating the Wye River Memorandum which resulted in an agreement highlighted by a three-stage withdrawal of Israeli troops from the West Bank.

Trump is abandoning the duties he swore to uphold on the day he was inaugurated. This isn't The Apprentice, this isn't a television show that he can manipulate and produce to his liking. This is the US government he's messing with, and our lives and the well being and safety of this country.

All this impeachment talk isn't going to stop the release of the IG report or stop Trump from declassifying those FBI FISA applications

Trump's refusal to work with Dems because they're putting a vice on his nuts, while not unexpected, is absolutely absurd. He is putting himself and his need to feel superior over the needs of the country.

Time for a new potus that puts US over THEMSELVES.

They’ve been screaming impeachment since the day he was elected. Spent 35 million dollars on a phoney investigation into Russia. There is just one damn phoney charge after another and they won’t stop until Guam tips over. Get the hell on with it.

The U.S. government will actually turn a nice profit after confiscating all of Paul Manfort's properties and assets worth close to $46 million. Now Congress can investigate Trump's tax cheating and money laundering in addition to the 12 instances cited in the Mueller report part II regarding evidence of obstruction of justice.

Trumps whole leadership strategy is about finding ways to blame everything on the Democrats. For two years his party controlled Congress and the only thing they accomplished was a tax reform bill. As soon as the Democrats took the house the border sitution suddenly became a 'national emergency' and Trump started in demanding the Democrats build his wall. Now every damned illegal immigrant is the fault of the Democrats in Congress. This latest is just another way to blame the Democrats for Trump doing diddly-squat.
 

The phoney investigation produced multiple convictions and more are coming. Trump's campaign was actively soliciting illegally obtained information from Russia. They encouraged illegal hacking of their opponents. They had a business deal on the line with Russia. Russia clearly worked to help Trump win the election. He's a crook and conservative voters know it, but don't care. This is the person they admire and want to set up as an example for the country to follow. It's sad and pathetic.

Obstruction of justice. Telling people to ignore subpoenas and the examples of obstruction in the mueller report.

The day after they're extradicted, which will be the day hell freezes over. But like I said, would you rather the investigation never happened and none of it was uncovered?
Personally, it'd be hard to imagine something more worth investigating than Russian interference in a Presidential election. Turning your back and ignoring that sends a message I don't think you want sent.

Indeed. The "for what?" crowd need to stop repeating the same question (well, mantra, really). It's already on the table: Obstruction. There's enough evidence to proceed with hearings and those hearings will decide whether Trump broke the law or not. They may uncover more dirty laundry in the process.

In the end Trump's presidency will probably service, but at leas we will know.

But digging in and insisting the country has no right to even try and get to the bottom of this is admitting they know Trump will look very very bad when all the evidence is laid out.

The following is from Mueller's report....

" The investigation did not establish any agreement among [Trump] Campaign officials--or b/t such officials & Russia-linked individuals--to interfere with or obstruct a lawful function of a gov't agency during the campaign or transition."

So no obstruction, so what should he be impeached with ? Don't you guys realize when your own party is stringing you along ?

It's not supposed to. It's supposed to establish whether the president committed obstruction of justice.

The IG report can go on and do it's thing: it will probably end up providing more evidence against Trump, if it has anything to do with this at all. Truth is, it's just a distraction so the Trumpkins can talk about something other than impeachment.

Because they want to impeach him. The lack of exoneration of obstruction in the Mueller report, the SDNY investigations, their concerns about the emoluments, and other matters they've talked about apparently. What do the FISA warrants and the IG report have to do with the Democrats?

Graham is trying very hard to be as ironic as Trump.

He'll never catch up. No one could ever be as ironic and hypocritical as Trump.

But Graham is giving it his best shot.




I disliked Obama. I had no love for Hillary. But Trump and Graham are absolutely flaming hypocrites for their whining about how poor widdle Twump is treated after how Obama and Hillary were treated by Trump, Graham and congressional Republicans in general for the whole of Obama's term ... and still to this day.
