NEW YORK (AP) — A federal judge on Thursday cleared the way for Manhattan’s top prosecutor to get President Donald Trump’s tax returns, rejecting a last-ditch attempt by his lawyers to block a subpoena issued to his accounting firm.

Trump’s lawyers immediately appealed U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero’s decision to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Marrero’s ruling echoed his prior decision in the case that was upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court last month.

The high court returned the case to Marrero to give Trump’s lawyers a chance to raise other concerns about the subpoena issued by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr.

Messages seeking comment on the ruling were left with Trump’s lawyer and Vance’s office.

Trump, through his lawyers, has argued that the subpoena was issued in bad faith, might have been politically motivated and amounted to harassment of him, especially since the wording mimicked the language in congressional subpoenas.

He has been lying about releasing his taxes for years. SDNY had to go to court to get them, because Trump is not complying. I would say, he is hiding something. Today Bannon got arrest. So many people around him have been arrested. I will be shocked if there is nothing incriminating in his taxes. There is no way that’s going to happen.

All I can see is a judge ignoring the SCOTUs decision but that is what hack judges do.

The judge didn't ignore the SCOTUS decision, he followed it to the letter.

SCOTUS won't grant cert again.

It's beyond obvious that Trump releasing his taxes means a long prison sentence for him, and probably Uday and Qusay among others.

It's going to be interesting when his financial records are finally made public and it becomes blindingly obvious how many illegal activities and tax evasions Trump has been into and watch his supporters try and defend him anyway.
Just how far into the rabbit hole of illegality are they willing to go?
