Trump announces the US won't go after Assad and he gasses his own people to thank him

Re: Trump announces the US won't go after Assad and he gasses his own people to thank

That was Putin. Putin is the statesman you're thinking of when it comes to the person who used peaceful diplomacy to affect positive change in Syria. When you think of Obama, be sure to think of him as the man who was arming and training Al-Qaeda and ISIS in Syria. That's Obama's legacy. I guess Palin was right: Obama does enjoy "Playing around with terrorists".

Yeah...they are all confused on that. Obama is the step-daddy of ISIS and a contributor to one of the biggest humanitarian disasters in modern history.

Re: Trump announces the US won't go after Assad and he gasses his own people to thank

1. What does this have to do with Putin?

2. What does Assad have to gain by using chemical weapons?

LOL What does Assad have to do with Putin? You really are in another world, Comrade. Even RT reported the Russian leaders support of Assad.
The Chlorine gas is just another way to terrorize his people so they will be afraid to oppose him. You know like the way Putin murders journalists that report on the things Putin does and lies about doing them.

Re: Trump announces the US won't go after Assad and he gasses his own people to thank

Lol, oh yeah, that's MUCH better. Heads I win, tails you lose. :lamo

If the source is not worshipful, the source is wrong.

Re: Trump announces the US won't go after Assad and he gasses his own people to thank

Unlike Obama, Trump didnt draw a ferocious 'red line' in the sand and then run like a little bitch..and seriously dood...you are the last person on the planet that has any room to accuse someone of hypocrisy. Your very creation of this thread condemns you.

LOL So now it is a plus to be soft on terrorists like Assad? You are too funny.

Not even getting into the fact that reinoe is a poster that makes Baghdad Bob look like a credible and responsible source of information.....

There's no actual proof that the US created/formed ISIS. The confusion comes from the fact that ISIS has captured large quantities of US equipment from Iraqi forces.

Re: Trump announces the US won't go after Assad and he gasses his own people to thank

How partisan. First Trump did not say exactly that. You twisted that a bit. Second, Obama was being verbal in drawing his red lines in the sand and then did nothing while Syrians were being gassed.

He did nothing except get rid of Assad's sarin stockpiles. Just think how much worse it would be if he still had them. Chlorine gas is horrid but Sarin is much worse.

Re: Trump announces the US won't go after Assad and he gasses his own people to thank

It's becoming painfully obvious that Trump admires tyrants.

Or maybe he doesn't want to more deeply involve the US in an Obama-neglected cluster****.
But no, the Trump haters would rather say foolish things like "He likes tyrants" rather then consider common sense reasons.

Syria is a hot mess the size of Texas. On one side you have bad guy Assad backed by bad guy Putin and on the other, you have "rebels", some of whom have Islamic Extremist allegiances.

Yeppers...better to just stay away from that steaming pile.

Re: Trump announces the US won't go after Assad and he gasses his own people to thank

Trump's reasoning: Assad is an ally of Putin. Everything leads back to Russia.

You better check under your bed! I think i saw some Reds under it.

Better to stay away you say? Trump is secretly sending hundreds of troops to Iraq as we speak...and plans to send more.

Re: Trump announces the US won't go after Assad and he gasses his own people to thank

It's Trump's deal now. That buck stops with him.

Those men, women and children foaming at the mouth , the bombing deaths, Yemen, all occurred on his watch.

This is not a tin foil hat issue, like Benghazi or emails or Obama being Muslim. This is the subject of a criminal investigation...of the entire Trump team. The AG went so far as to lie under oath about his meetings with the Russian Ambassador. The general Trump put in charge of our SECURITY lied about communications with Russians AND about being on the payroll of the Russians AND about being on the payroll of Turkey. Others have lied about their connections, as well.

Trump Jr. said at a meeting a few years ago that a major portion of the Trump org. money comes from Russians. Trump sold a very expensive luxury house to a Russian. Trump held the Miss USA pageant in Russia. The Sec of State, Tillerson, apptd by Trump, won an award "Friend of Russia" from Putin.

Trump was taped as incidental taping while Russians were being wiretapped, according to Nunes. Trump gets a ton of money from Russia. Trump has criticized American intelligence agencies, the free press, our judiciary, an individual Senator, a group of Representatives of his own party, our closest ally Great Britain (accused them of wiretapping him), our ally Australia (who has fought in every war with us since forever), our ally Mexico, many American individuals....yet, Trump has had nothing but praise for Russia and Putin (who, Trump says, is a great leader) and equated our military missions and imperfection with Russia and Putin's brutality and assassinations of its citizens and others.

Additionally, Russia hacked American people and systems and sites to help Trump get elected. Trump said on campaign trail, "Russia, if you're listening, we need (more of those emails)," and there was an email dumping by Wikileaks just a few days later.

It's all there. And it's being investigated. Russia is a big threat to our democracy. That's very serious. And there's nothing tin foil hat about it. It's real. (Russia installed a puppet Prez in the Ukraine, and one in Croatia.) Our intel informs us that this what Russia does: it disrupts democracies around the world.

Watch the news. Every few days, there's yet another weird and suspicious Russian connection with a Trump associate revealed. The latest was Betsy DeVos's brother, who went for a meeting with Russians "as a special envoy of Trump."
The United Arab Emirates arranged a secret meeting in January between Blackwater founder Erik Prince and a Russian close to President Vladi*mir Putin as part of an apparent effort to establish a back-channel line of communication between Moscow and President-elect Donald Trump, according to U.S., European and Arab officials.

The meeting took place around Jan. 11 — nine days before Trump’s inauguration — in the Seychelles islands in the Indian Ocean, officials said.

No, this is no tin foil hat Benghazi. This is real.

Re: Trump announces the US won't go after Assad and he gasses his own people to thank

not mine..

but we sure have people who are eager to send Americans into a fight, because they don't like some something they saw on the news.

What is your cause, PO?

We have a president eager to send Americans into a fight without any discussion or debate.

my cause is none, that part of the world in not in interest of the u.s.

because it trump sending troops you don't like it, however if it was the previous admin you would have no problem

Well, yes...but the power vacuum that was created by undermining Assad in the first place. Further, we supported a lot of "moderates" who joined ISIS and continued to support the "rebels" long after there was only extremists left.

Fact is, the previous admin, and the current one, don't know who is what and what they are getting involved with. What does a post-Assad Syria look like to anyone? Peace and democracy breaks out? No, extremists will take over and it will be worse than Libya is now. I don't know how we can keep doing the same mistake, repeatedly, and people still buy it.

We can't control what people will do with our weapons without boots on the ground, sadly enough. The moderates, having been hit by the government and radicals, understandably have been ground down.

Perhaps because letting the local strongman cling to power ensures that radicals will recieved a steady stream of fresh recruits in upcoming years? Outside of the Alawites, Assad is not supported by the Syrian people. Had he not been so desperate to cling to personal power, perhaps the whole civil war could have been averted. People definitely wouldn't be getting gassed.

So why do we do it, if we know it's going to end up in the wrong hands? Further, we used Qatar and Saudi Arabia as intermediaries to supply the "rebels" and through wikileaks we saw that Hillary knew they were supporting extremists yet we kept doing it.

This seems to me like a fundamental misunderstanding of the region. It takes a strong man to keep the various factions in line. I'll ask the question again, "What does a post-Assad Syria look like to you?". To me it looks like Libya but worse.

This is not factually true. Almost everyone not Sunni supports Assad. The religious minorities support Assad as well. The reason is they know they will be killed if Assad is deposed. They don't particularly like him but they had basic freedom and know the alternative is death.

You want 'hard' like Obama? :lamo You arent even thinking about what you are saying anymore. Obama was president for 8 YEAR. Trump...67 days. Obama made threats to Assad and then ran like a bitch. Assad is still in power. And you didnt say a ****ing thing for 8 years. NOW...NOW you give a **** about Syria. Seriously...you are embarrassing yourself.

Do you even know if there is a side to take in Syria right now?

Given that nobody has a crystal ball, I don't think anybody knew the weapons were going to end up in the wrong hands.

And yet, no strongman has ever been able to do anything but kick the can down the road for a few years. Eventually brutality catches up to you.

The difference is that the international community is a lot more committed to Syria than they were to Libya.

The side of human decency which is not Putin's or Assads side. Trump needs to denounce Assad's use of chemical weapons and stop blaming Obama. If it wasn't for Obama's actions Assad would have sarin gas and killing 1000's instead of 100's. All the Trump administration has to say is that the people can decide if they want to keep a homicidal maniac in power. Where's the winning?

Again with the Putin talking points. Putin is the one going to war and is counting on Trump and his buddy Tillerson to look the other way. Not going to happen, this country is far bigger that they are. We will not stand for more annexation.

Re: Trump announces the US won't go after Assad and he gasses his own people to thank

McCain seems so eager to involve the US in another war. And to spice up his rant, he adds in some Russian paranoia.

Right and Hillary the "war monger" is backing him up. You sound like another Russian troll. Putin is the aggressor here not us. He needs to back down or be put down. Oh and you just got "outed"....
