Trump supporters/Wall suppporters: If, as Speaker Pelosi has clearly stated, there will no more money for Trump's Wall, do you support Trump shutting down the government down again ?

He won't dare. The spineless whimps in the GOP party will cave to their constituents. America has no stomach for another shutdown.

Do you think Trump cares about the GOP party? Or inflicting pain on people?

Regardless, Trump won't shut it down again. He learned his lesson, and paid the price.

He'll either accept Pelosi's offer and call it "victory", or he'll capitulate and tie it up in the courts via an emergency action.

Yea, I doubt it. It's like that old saying about how voters vote, "Democrats fall in love; Republicans fall in line."

There's not a chance that any of the Senate Republicans rebel in large enough numbers to contradict Trump. Republicans fall in line.

If Trump wants to shut down the government again, all we'll ever get is a bunch of "upset" and "oh no" tweets.

No. But his veto will get overridden if he tries not to pass a bipartisan spending bill.

Maybe, I wouldn't count on that happening quickly.

Don't worry, he won't do that.

He's at the point where there is no sense dealing with Congress any longer. He'll build the wall on his own.

Pelosi?

LOL - with no appropriations? Keep dreaming.

Hmm...the president thwarting the will of the people by bypassing Congress. That sounds like a promising end game.

So, you're saying the executive should over-run the desires of the People?

Think about what you're saying, in Constitutional terms. And keep in mind Congress is Article One.

Exactly! Article One! :doh

When Congress is abdicating their responsibility to the people in favor of political opposition to the President, the President is obligated to tell them to piss up a rope.

lol...sounds like a good justification attempt. Except it's kind of against everything your government is set up to be. One guy doesn't get to make that call on a whim. If you're not happy with the job your government is doing, vote differently next time. You don't support the president overthrowing it. That's preposterous, Mycroft...come on now.

But they're not. They represent the will of People, and the latest election (2018) shows that the People want Trump stopped - in spades!

It's thinking like yours that is setting-up a constitutional crisis. The President is constitutional responsible to the People, not the other way around.

It shows either a distinct lack of understanding of the Constitution, or a disrespect of it. Neither is good. Neither will provide a winning argument, here.

No, it's technically advocating for a coup. If he gets his way with this, where will he stop? What else will he justify with an "emergency"? You guys are losing control down there...here's hoping it's just more bluster.

The legislative branch is a coequal body. They aren’t supposed to be subservient to Trump.

Based on his interview tonight with the New York Times (you know the failing fake news times) his intentions sound clear, sign whatever the Congress puts in front of him, keep government open, then declare his state of emergency take disaster funds and use the military to build his wall.
It's his wall has not one thing to do with voters or the country at large.

Actually, here's counting on 2020!

They aren't. And he isn't subservient to them. They have their powers...he has his.

Trump cannot shut down the government. Only Congress can do that. Spineless wimps can join forces with stubborn democrats to get enough bipartisan support to get a bill passed into law which will withstand a Trump veto and if they do the government will remain open. If Congress fails to pass successful bipartisan legislation to keep the government open, then it will shut down. It has never been Trump's job to craft bipartisan legislation for the purpose of keeping the government open. Trump is under no obligation to side with the minority democrats seeking to hold America hostage unless Congress yields to their unpopular and unreasonable demands.

Trump will go the National Emergency route either immediately or within a few days of another shutdown. He will throw it to the courts and they will give him what he actually wants anyway.....a longer Wall Fight.

But the Dems are not going to make it easy on either him or the GOP. Their proposal will be reasoned and quite effective as a border security measure without his Wall and it won't take rocket scientists to figure that out.

I can see lower courts with democrat appointee judges trying to force Trump to rubber stamp Pelosi's nonsense, but I cannot see the Supreme Court agreeing with that nonsense.
