ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Reuters) - Even as a partial shutdown halts the functions of many U.S. government departments, forcing the Department of the Interior to close national parks, the Trump administration is continuing to push for the expansion of oil drilling on sensitive, federally owned lands in Arctic Alaska.
==============================================
Paraphrasing Trump: 'Screw the environment. F**k the Polar Bears.'

Henry Ford already invented cars that ran on hemp oil. If our nation was smart, Trump would be pushing for complete legalization of cannabis and offering incentives to farmers to produce. We could become energy independent and not need to drill the arctic and destroy yet another marine eco system.

You try to explain that to the 'stable genius.' ExxonMobil & BP have his ear, not hemp growers.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Green New Deal calls for the elimination of all non-essential gas powered cars and the elimination of all US power production via oil, natural gas, and nuclear within 10 years.

Fully aware. Hence why I did not vote for DJT.

He is unimpressive.

Which we can achieve, with hemp, if this country would stop being a cess-pool of religion induced, stupefying hysterics.

If you check your history, hemp was originally banned through lobbying by newspaper tycoon Hearst because it could be converted into an excellent & economical newsprint paper that competed with his paper industry in the Pacific NW. It was resurrected to make rope for our Navy during WWII.
