The Trump administration is intent on trying to trash the Iran Deal. Yes Trump administration is intent on trying to trash the Iran Deal and what the hell for.

Our team was deeply involved in 2015 in pressuring the Senate to back the Iran Deal, and today we’re raising the alarm in the media, in Congress, and with progressive partners about what's happening— yes we are!

Mike Pompeo just took a HUGE step towards destroying the Iran nuclear deal — for good.

After weeks of trying, and failing, to force other countries to restart multilateral sanctions on Iran through the United Nations Security Council, Pompeo announced the United States would use a last-ditch mechanism in the Iran deal to get what he wants — even though the United States is no longer a party to the agreement.

Why’s this so important? Because not only does this continue the dangerous brinkmanship with Iran that could so easily spiral into war, but the cavalier, go-it-alone approach injects more chaos in an already precarious situation and makes it even more difficult to salvage the nuclear agreement.

Trump and Pompeo have an intentional strategy to bring down one of the most effective diplomatic nuclear agreements in years — and we are DETERMINED not to let that happen.

Our team was deeply involved in 2015 in pressuring the Senate to back the agreement, and today we are fighting tooth and nail to expose these cruel, tough-guy maneuvers for what they are. We’re raising the alarm in the media, in Congress, and with progressive partners — and we need your help.

Trump is intent on trying to trash one of the most successful diplomatic achievements in decades for seemingly no better reason than to shred every major Obama administration foreign policy achievement and to satisfy his extremist right-wing backers that are hungry for a war with Iran.

And the people who will be hurt most — immediately by the sanctions, and long-term if the situation devolves into conflict — are families in Iran already dealing with rampant coronavirus cases and an economy enormously damaged by years of punishing sanctions, doubled down on by Trump.

We obviously can’t control the Trump administration’s approach to the nuclear deal — but we can help other countries see that there is still huge and significant support for it, and lay the groundwork for a future administration to sign the U.S. back on.

This isn’t headline news, but it doesn’t need to be. We just need to make sure key signal senders are transmitting the right things — from Congressional committees to carefully watched foreign policy outlets to media talking heads.

Diplomatic agreements like the Iran nuclear deal show that we can tackle big challenges with other countries and get results. The alternative is a dangerous world of go-it-alone decisions that has led us into endless wars.

Trump already did trash the Iran deal.

I'd look for Iran to become a nuclear power fairly soon as a result.

Maybe if they can last long enough. The Mullah's are hanging on by their fingernails. The forces of change are growing with the youngish population who aren't interested in hard core Islam.

Let's be honest, Iran (since 1979) has NEVER been an ally of the USA. They consistently call for "Death to America" ... now, that's not death to Republicans .... that's death to ALL Americans. Let's all face it, Obama signed a weak deal that capitulated and allowed the Iranian regime to produce uranium, only at a slower pace. Obama sold out our middle eastern allies (specifically Israel).

Meanwhile, President Trump's administarion has just brokered peace between Israel and the United Arab Emirates

In fact, now they are talking about Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Morocco and Saudi Arabia possibly following suit and establishing diplomatic relations with Israel.

What did the U.S. get out of it besides hugs for Barack and Rice in the U.N. corridors?

I'm a liberal Democrat who supports Trump. Truthfully I didn't this deal coming. I always thought there were under the surface commercial relations but I'm surprised and gratified it finally went public. The deal itself was a natural; Israeli talent partnered with Arab money is a beautiful combination. This area could rival the United States in importance and influence. As opponents it's a charnel house.
