Trump accuses 'low IQ' Rep. Waters of advocating 'harm' against his supporters | Fox News

President Trump on Monday accused Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters of advocating “harm” against his supporters, after she called over the weekend for protesters to confront Cabinet members wherever they see them in public.

“Congresswoman Maxine Waters, an extraordinarily low IQ person, has become, together with Nancy Pelosi, the Face of the Democrat Party. She has just called for harm to supporters, of which there are many, of the Make America Great Again movement. Be careful what you wish for Max!” Trump tweeted.

The president’s tweet comes after Waters, D-Calif., urged her supporters to accost Trump administration officials.

“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” Waters said, later telling MSNBC that protesters are “going to absolutely harass them.” .

“Whip Scalise knows firsthand the dangerous consequences that can result from making political differences personal and vitriolic,” spokeswoman Lauren Fine said in a statement. “We are lucky to live in a country where we have the right to freely debate our differences civilly. Harassment is never an acceptable method of disagreement.”

Here we have a top ranking Democrat literally calling for the harassment of Trump cabinet members. This isn't protesting, this isn't "resisting," this is blatant harassment. Such a shame that some within the DNC have become this deranged with their anti-Trump madness.

And people need to do it because the GOP are protecting a criminal in the White House.

The real irony is that Trump and his supporters can't take what they have been giving out for almost 2 years.... snowflakes...

It's a shame the President can't take opposition from a black person without going "low IQ" dog whistle for rhetorical points.

For the Thread:

In defense of incivility
By Ryan Cooper

Trump administration officials are having restaurant troubles. Over the weekend, Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders attempted to dine with her family at a restaurant in Lexington, Virginia, and the owner decided, in consultation with her employees, to refuse to serve them. This follows on the heels of senior policy adviser Stephen Miller being called a fascist in a D.C. Mexican restaurant, and Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen being chased out of another Mexican restaurant by Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) protesters.

A certain class of centrist liberal was upset by this supposed affront to civility. The Washington Post editorial board wrote that current history doesn't justify uncivil behavior, and Sanders "should be allowed to eat dinner in peace." Former Obama adviser David Axelrod tweeted that he was "appalled" at people celebrating Sanders getting kicked out. The Atlantic's Conor Friedersdorf suggests that such incivility increases the likelihood of a Trump re-election.

This reaction is silly, and it divides the opposition to President Trump for zero political gain.

Totally wrong and inappropriate. You can tell how far gone someone has become when they believe the lies and warp political differences into "enemies" worthy of violence and harassment.

Please, tell me the last time a group of Republicans shouted out, refused to serve, or have harassed a member of the Obama admin or a Democrat. Also, please tell me of a current Republican asking people to do so towards their political opponents. What Maxine is calling for is completely and utterly wrong and evil. Disagreeing with someone or not liking the policies of an administration does not give others the right to harass people and make their lives hell. This isn't about harsh political rhetoric, this is about literally harassing people in their daily life.

So you support nutty Waters call for physical harassment against his supporters and Cabinet members wherever they see them in public? That's against the law.

Trump is the one we picked, a nation should not be resisting its own choices, and as for the charge that Trump is a criminal a charge is only a charge and charges come cheep these days....you must prove it.

Congratulations! You've created the argument for the harassment of people you don't like.

While Trump has no moral high ground to stand on when it comes to statements that urge, directly or through implication, violence that doesn’t make him wrong here. A congresswoman should not be saying things like this imho

JUST :stop:

When we have a political system that has as one of its main jobs settling disputes....if the system no longer works (it does not) then fix the system, dont call for retrograde humanity.

Race card.

Got anything else?

Especially in light of the fact that several conservative congress critters had been shot at last year by a dimwit Bernie supporter.

You do know Trump does that, right?

race again ... ... how predictable ... :lamo

It's gone beyond parody how often these low iq liberals play the race card.
come on, black people say realy stupid sh$t all the time. Just like white people.

Definitely true. Sinking to Trump's level really will do nothing for us. We certainly need to restore an acceptable amount of civility and decorum into our politics. Thinks like what Waters is advocating is no winning strategy and only serves to dump us further into the whole of over-emotionalized hyperpartisan drama. It's time to stop this nonsense.

Oh yeah, there's no racist historical link between race and IQ, right? My comment was made in a void, sure.

She's a dimwit who should be kept away from ANY power.

You do know Trump does that, right?

Show me a direct quote where Trump recently calls for the legitimate harassment of Democrats in their daily lives. He has harsh rhetoric, but I have not yet seen him literally call for his supporters to harass people in their daily lives that don't support him. There a difference between insults and saying you need to harass people and make their daily lives nearly impossible to live because you disagree with their politics/policies.

Have you heard her speak....... he is being very nice with his description.
She was calling for the president's impeachment almost from day 1 of his administration.

WTF are you talking about? Point to one case where a prominent Republican urged followers to physically harass and annoy democrats.
