Trump abruptly escorted from briefing after shooting near WH

“There was an actual shooting and somebody’s been taken to the hospital,” Trump said. The president said the shots were fired by law enforcement, saying he believed the individual who was shot was armed. “It was the suspect who was shot,” Trump said.

Trump said he was escorted to the Oval Office by the agent. The White House was placed on lockdown following the incident.
The shooting took place near 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue just blocks from the White House, according to two sources with knowledge of the situation who were not authorized to speak publicly about it. Law enforcement officials were still trying to determine the suspect's motive.

I would be interested to know why the President was removed from the premises when the shooting took place blocks from the WH. More of a threat than meets the eye? Better to err on the side of caution?

Where did you get the idea that Trump questioned the Secret Service's decision? I hadn't read that.

A bit of precaution, there's not much to the story yet, but it does seem that there was an officer involved shooting just outside the White House and that it was secured and handled well.

The Secret Service is very cautious even with Presidents that are liked or loved.

S.S. needs to worry about people with mental illnesses that may want to harm even a liked or loved President.

A hated President ups the possibility of more people potentially wanting to harm a President.

It is something to wonder about concerning this President since there were actors and some other out spoken haters that actually mentioned thinking about harming Trump.
