Are you serious? He was privately educated his entire academic life.

So his private education left him believing he could be anything he wanted to be, just like public schools teach? We don't teach such nonsense in our Christian school. Kids in our school are taught that they will have opportunities in life but not that they can do just anything they want regardless of individual abilities and limitations. For example, all kids may have the opportunity to join the military but no kid can bypass peer review and acceptance needed to advance to higher ranks. Generals are not born, they are ushered into promotions by others who like how they think, whether good or bad.

Sounds like a wonderful place.

That sounds ridiculous, christian schools also teach their children they could become a general if they work hard and apply themselves.

During a cabinet meeting Trump stated:

On the way to him pronouncing himself a good potential general he gave slighted actual military man Mattis with the statement that he had “essentially” fired the general from his position as Secretary of Defense because he had done “not too good” in Afghanistan.

So what do you think, would Trump have made a good general?

The poll might have been better served with 'YES, NO, Other' as choices....

Trump made a ridiculous comment so I made a bit over the top poll.

A man who dodged military service by deferment several times and never has been in the armed forces says that real generals are losers but that he would have made a good general?

The man has insulted several real military men by making them out for all kinds of things, and then he claims he would have been a good general? That is so ridiculous that it deserves this opinion poll IMHO.

He would make an excellent general. Anyone who can escape his own personal Vietnam deserves to be a general.

It smacks of what is usually is described as TDS...

Trump said something stupid ergo you are compelled to post something stupid...

But, hey.... Go for it if it gets you through the night.

HA.

Whatever happened to simply "Yes, No, Other" options?

This poll has literally six "options" for "no" that demonstrate crass levels of negative bias where a simple "No, explain" would have served.

I'm not a student military history. Has there ever been an America general fragged by his own troops? Trump could have been the first!

The guy is either delusional or full of BS, probably a bit of both. I ignore most of his tweets and daily self ego stroking.

Well, no, it is not TDS, it is being sick and tired of Trump syndrome. Trump is the one who is deranged. The man lies all of the time, says stupid things and offends really honest and honorable people like Mattis and many others. Such a man deserves no respect and that is obvious through this poll for example.

And also, I gave 2 totally acceptable options and one indifferent option, so 3 out of 8 are regular answers the rest are a bit over the top.

Pity...

Had this been a real poll I would have voted a loud and resounding NO.

You can still do that, in "other" you can just say I don't like your options but it still would be a resounding no for me, he is not fit to be a general.

No. He would not...

No. He would not...

I agree and what is even more galling is that he insulted and emasculated (verbally) men that are 1000 times more manly that he will ever be.

Trump is a dolt... a guy that would never fight for anything (physically).

He also could never lead an army because to be in the military you need to be willing to lay down your life and you have to be cognizant of that when you are sending men into danger. You need to have good instincts about battles. None of these things IMHO fit with Donald Trump. He is not willing to lay down his life for anything, he would not be wise enough to take reasonable risks with the lives of his men and he does not seem to have good instincts other than in lying.

Good instincts would have saved him from saying there were good people on both sides for example. Good instincts would teach him not to fight over numbers of deaths with Puerto Rico, etc. etc. etc. It is impossible for him to choose the wisest path to victory. The man could not even make a casino work. How would he run an armed force of highly trained professionals. Because professional is also not a word I would choose for Trump.

Trump as he is TODAY would make a horrible General. But if he had spent a career in the military, fulfilling the requirements needed to become a General, instead of living in his bubble, then who knows? I think Trump’s life experiences have made him who he is. Maybe if he had different life experiences in his youth he would have been a better person and leader. No way to know.

Kids are taught to believe they can be anything. It looks like Trump is a product of secular public education.

It looks like you don't know what the Hell you're talking about.

The first school he attended was Kew-Forest, a private prep school in Queens. Then he went on to NY Military Academy, another private school.

Just because Trump lies with ease doesn't mean you have to do the same thing.

Private Bonespurs.

Private Bonespurs.

Only people who serve in the military get military ranks, so for me he is a private pure and simple as he would be if he would apply to serve. Something Trump also would never do.

Idiots claim Trump lies all the time. Those same idiots may think I lied for saying it looks like Trump is a product os secular public education. That is not lying. I'm afraid the reason we are seeing so many leftists claim Trump lies all the time is because they are stupid, untaught, and don't know what the hell they are trying to think or say.

Your post was a lie. Trump did not attend public schools.

Fact.

Yeah you learned how to lie from Obamafail but just because he lied so much does not mean you have too.
