I also saw the Bibi interview where FOX asked him directly if Trump waved off the assassination. Bibi would not confirm but did go on to say such ops would lead to more "complication" ( Israel is happy where it's at taking out ballisti missiles /nuke enrichment and the leadership IRGC)

I personally think this is an ideal situation to once an for all stop nuclear Iran and proliferation to it's terrorists proxies
If you go after civilian/religious leaders it means war against the Islamic Shi'a faith, and not just the IRGC -needless "complication"

It depends on how thats read. for sure Bibi wants strategic ambiguity. But if you look at the CNN article OP source here
we know Trump waved off US joining Israeli ops (unless US interests are directly attacked) while fully supporting Israels' ops.

IOW Trump has always been cautious abut escalating a war/ which killing Khamenei would surely do.
The Iranian people are sick of living in poverty and fundamentalism,and there have been waves of protests over the years ( Like the Green Movement under Obama and Trump) and taking out the religious leadership would posibly lead the people to support the regime against assassination. It could be counterproductive.

Taking out the Ayatollah when it's not needed as Israel is kicking butt -can only lead to unnecessary "complications"

agree. such blow back is common when it comes to regime change. ( Libya) or the Taliban coming back stronger in Afghan after we dumped them the first time..we got lucky in Syria when al-Nusra and the terrorist Salafi became "mainstream" (HTS) after Assad was dumped

What I don't see factored here is the speeding up of uranium enrichment after Trump pulled out of the JCPOA. What is also missing here is the fact of who Iran's biggest oil clients are and the limited effect US policy has on that.

While the JCPOA offered Iran relief from economic sanctions, there was always the question of not giving full access to to the IAEA inspectors. And it's pretty clear Iran was going to cheat on the deal as much as it could without re-imposition of sanctions.

Sanctions worked to cripple Iranian exports - Iran was selling less then $20 billion - but the root problem was Iran's all-in to make a nuke

All the deals were essentially worthless, as Iran had a Plan(s) to manufacture a nuke..

Except with the JCPOA it slowed their development and even with them trying to get around inspections there was far more transparency then there was after the fact, and it can't be denied their enrichment process sped up after the fact.

Under Biden's and democrats failed foreign policy, Iran was permitted income to facilitate the enrichment process.....something you are not seeing.

Sure it was a band aid to slow down the bleeding. various time frames show up to an extra year delay for Iran to weaponize
Beyond delays and deals the core problem is Iran cannot be trusted -even if verified -to keep an agreement. Their goal was always nukes.

Now they are facing some serious 'delays" Israel is determined to neutralize the threat

That's an interesting version of history that neglects the ending of the JCPOA which is what led to Iran enriching uranium at a faster rate, and it's why now the current administration's been trying to negotiate something very similar to the JCPOA. Odd, that.
 

Amnesia of the prior four years is not the proper way of determining facts. Iran would not release the information they were supposed to under the JCPOA anyways, then neglecting all the monies that landed in the coffers under the democrats.......wait, never mind.....this is TDS, I'm sorry for your affliction.

It appears unlikely that Donald vetoed anything. As far as Bibi is concerned, Donald is a wimp suffering from moderate dementia, and thus not worth listening to. Israel likely did everything they planned to do, regardless of Donald's little opinions.
