DONALD TRUMP, the former president and the person that polls show is still the most likely GOP presidential nominee in 2024, today on Truth Social called for the suspension of the Constitution to overturn the 2020 election, citing false conspiracy theories about election fraud.

Like many DP members in the other thread on this topic, Politico has totally misunderstood what Trump said...though Politico has done so deliberately.

Here is an explanation of what Trump said...in simple terms:

Total BS. He said what he said.

The constitution provides a process for people who think there was fraud.......the courts.

Trump and people that support him took full advantage of that process. 60 lawsuits. They lost.

Case closed.

It's unAmerican to suggest tossing the rules and the constitution because it didn't go your way. because you lost, and your legal, constitutional challenges failed.


In this country if you lose an election you have the right to challenge it. Trump did. The courts ruled. Case closed.

Just stop with the crap or find a country that suits you better.
 

You're right, he's predicting a suspension of the constitution preceded by proposed solutions for doing it.

That's how Trump calls for it without calling for it, but he can count on you falling for it.

Imagine how much better things would be had Republicans not been such lawless, corrupt traitors, and had voted to enforce the law and convicted traitor trump when he was impeached, and he was barred from running again. How the country could have united behind that, the way it did in favor of Nixon's removal after having re-elected him with 49 states.

First and last, Biden won the election. Saying anything otherwise is a lie, and has been proven so to the vast majority of Americans.
Why the constant making excuses for a guy who is desperate to stay out of prison? Trump looks more worried, desperate, and psychologically unhinged than I've ever seen him. They must be getting close.

Um, even with Covid and traitor trump's disaster on it, 77,000 votes and he'd have been re-elected, and without the mishandling of Covid it looks likely he'd have won? Republicans have a real chance in 2024. I'm hopeful but don't think it's clear who will win.

Not all conservatives. Just the MAGAs. There are still conservatives who believe in our institutions and lobby for small government and fiscal responsibility.
