And worthy of a statue in every United State. In fact, we may need someone like him again soon if traitorous trends continue from the now fully radicalized right wing.

Not so popular if you live in Georgia during the war of Northern Aggression.

As we say here, "Red sky at night, means Atlanta's on fire".

To be clear, who attacked who first during the Civil War?

So is the problem that you are too uneducated to know what a contemporary source is?

Er, those books cite contemporary sources.

Perhaps if you actually looked at them an developed an actual education.

None of what you presented were contemporary sources.

And you know this, because you've read them, that they contain no primary sources

Seems your one to judge a book by its cover

May be if you read more about the War of Northern Aggression ?

How about you quote those books for their relevant passages?

The War of Southern Treason began when the CSA launched a war of aggression at the battle of Fort Sumter.

The North attacked the South by denying them the option of seceding from the Union.

It was the South who started the fight by opening fire on US troops.

As it turned out, that was a bad decision by the slavers.

Your claim is the equivalent of claiming Britain “attacked” Germany by refusing to let them annex Poland.

The South began the war by seizing forts, arsenals, mints, custom-houses, etc., etc., long before Mr. Lincoln was installed, and before the South had one jot or tittle of provocation. I myself have seen in Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Mississippi, hundreds and thousands of women and children fleeing from your armies and desperadoes, hungry and with bleeding feet. In Memphis, Vicksburg, and Mississippi, we fed thousands and thousands of the families of rebel soldiers left on our hands, and whom we could not see starve. Now that war comes to you, you feel very different

True, in the same way the colonists started the fight with the British in 1776

But the Union threatened the Southern economy and the wealth of the Southern middle class

Britain appeased Germany in the 30's, not actively worked to cause great upheaval inside it.

Yawn. Actually, nobody really knows who fired the first shot in the Revolutionary War and therefore “started the fight”.....unlike the Civil War, where the Southerners started the conflict by firing on US soldiers.

The south felt that the election of Abraham Lincoln threatened slavery, which they considered an essential part of their identity. Hence, they went to war to try and keep buying and selling other human beings

By “great upheaval“ you mean “didn’t vigorously hunt down people escaping from literal slavery”. Your objection to that is rather pathetic.
