Trudeau refuses to commit to funding Harry and Meghan’s security | News | The Times

The Canadian prime minister has failed to commit to paying the security costs for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as they step back from royal duties.

Justin Trudeau said his government had not been involved in Harry and Meghan’s arrangements before they announced they would split their lives between the UK and North America.

In the UK these royals have 24/7 top-quality security, paid for by the British tax payer. Just because they want to spend some of their time living in Canada does not mean that Canadian tax payers should have to pick up the tab for security for these multi-millionaires. Let them check with Wally Segap & hire private security on their own tab. They'll need that just to hold of the papparazzi.

William thought this monarchy racket sounded like a good deal back in 1066 so he gave it a try & look how it worked out.

Back in 1066, it was a good deal. In England, if you had land, money, and men, the Normans wrote your name in the book, and they left you alone as long as you remembered to call William "King". It was a small price to pay to avoid heating your hut with cow pies.

Things have changed.
