According to the blog that I have linked to, the 3% excise tax, known as the War Tax, that people have been paying on their phone bills since the Spanish American war, is now gone, after the Federal government lost yet another appeal.

There is no headline associated with this. Just a location. Can anyone else here confirm this story?

Finally! Somebody has enough sense to end that freakin' tax! What with all the budget surpluses and everything we have going on right now, I'm surprised its lasted this long.
