And the US has been doing it for at least 8 years

Latterly flying in terrorists from Syria and Africa and having US Elite Forces re-train them .

Putin got sick of them shelling Donbass non stop with nearly 15000 killed since the 2014 cease fire agreements .

That more BS from Putin. The shelling was done by the "separatists" meaning mercenaries on Putin's payroll.

The fighting between government soldiers and Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine began Thursday and has not let up, with several dozen towns and villages on the government-controlled side being shelled, the authorities and aid groups said.

Ukrainian military officials and the minister of defense confirmed the pickup in shelling, saying Russian-backed separatists had fired 84 times with heavy weaponry on Thursday and Friday.

That's the same NYT that, 3 years AFTER the start of the illegal invasion of Iraq and the desytroying of an entire country, issued a public mea culpa about its coverage

What makes you think they aren't doing the same jingoism for war now that they did then?

And if so, are they skating very close to treason by doing so?

Constitutionally speaking, we are not in a declared was with Russia, so treason in that sense doesn't apply. Anyway, it's free speech, so even the sedition laws wouldn't apply, tho that was their original intent.

It's very dangerous to suggest such things, people are entitled to speak their minds, even when they are wrong and what they have to say maybe unpopular without being labeled enemies of the State.

Aid and comfort is a material thing, they require overt acts to help the enemy in a war declared by Congress.

No but I do know which country is headed by a former KGB leader that specialized in misleading it's citizens. Russia is the prime source of propaganda and misinformation in the entire world. The NYT is a respected and truthful member of the international press.

What is treason for one nationality is patriotism for the enemy. Nothing is new about that. You have made your choice based on your own allegiances comrade.

Putin is the aggressor in this war and you support him. That is not a anti-war stance it is the affirmation of "might=right". Putin will continue to start wars as long as he thinks misguided people like you will support him. You cannot appease a madman.
