HAVANA, Cuba, July 14, 2010 (Mario José Delgado González, LGBT-CUBA-NEWS-TODAY / www.cubanet.org)-On Monday, July 12, around nine in the evening, three men stabbed Osmar Trujillo Quiñones, a 22 year old transsexual, known as Star. The incident occurred on a city bus, route P-12 in which Trujillo was traveling in the company of 8 other friends, also transsexuals.

Maikel Marin, a 19 years transsexual known as Kira, one of the friend who traveled with the victim, told this reporter that they had taken the P-12, as they usually do, in the direction of the Sport City area, where they exert prostitution, when 3 delinquents began screaming offensives remarks to Trujillo because he had accidentally collided with one of them.

Suddenly, one of the men pulled a knife and stabbed Trujillo 4 times in the belly, according to what reported Francisco Leroy Sanchez, 28 years old and known as White, another victim's friends who accompanied him.

Sanchez reported that, amid the chaos and confusion, the attackers jump from the bus and managed to run away and the driver, without stopping, drove the bus at full speed to the National Hospital, the nearest one, to save the victim life.

The rampant violence against homosexuals is proof of the intense homophobia under the Castros’ regime. These types of attacks are happening right now. Where are the reports of the Human Rights Watch on the island’s anti-gay activities?

This story is important, but I find it quite sad that your only reason for bringing this up was because you want to find a way to smear Fidel Castro. You don't actually care about the plight of transsexuals, but only for your political agenda. Sad indeed.

There is a lot of "intense" phobia in Cuba. There is freedomphobia, libertyphobia, realityphobia to name some others.

What "rampant violence against homosexuals"? How does the one incident you quote morph into 'these types of attacks"?

This is kinda off topic but I am really upset at the flack Dancing W/The Stars is getting for have Chaz Bonon. Hate is alive and well in our country and I simply do not understand why anybody would have a problem with him being on the show other than HATE!

According to your logic because they are transsexuals and the attack occurred over a year ago, you feel that is O.K. Are you homophobic?

The point is that the regime police often overlook evidence in anti-gay hate crimes, such as in this case. No arrests are made, and no charges appear in their reports. They just dismiss the charges. This is criminal behavior and must be punished

Dancin With The Stars is going down because of the Chaz Crap....and I say AMEN!

She is simply sick pervert..... And a TV Show that would promote an idividual that is meaningless, and just for being a pervert is disscusting.

The type of rhetoric championed by Mariela Castro, Raul Castro’s daughter, director of CENESEX about the progress on LGTB rights under the regime, is just another smoke screen to divert attention of what is really happening.

The big story here is that this happened in Dr. Castro’s island, the “free territory of America”, the liberal bastion of the world. These goons are a product of the Castros’ system which share part of the blame.

I take the Bible very seriously and it declares that any sex other than for procreation is wrong and should be punished by death. If America is going to get back on track morally and with God, we need to outright ban any gay/transexual behavior. Any offender caught should be made an example of and executed publicly. Now, I do not hate those that sin, as Jesus said we shouldn't. But, we have to uphold the commandments of God and if they repent before their death they can be forgiven by God and sent to Heaven.
