The person, previously known as Jason Michael Hann and serving on death row at California’s San Quentin, began identifying as a woman in 2019, adopting the name Jessica Marie Hann. Gavin Newsom to suspend the state’s death penalty and halt all executions, the authorities moved Jessica Hann to the women’s general prison population after a brief observation period.
