I really don't care, as far as I'm concerned the James Bond series has sucked after Sean Connery.

Casino Royale, Skyfall, Goldeneye were all pretty solid IMO.

I don't see Bond being a Trans character anytime soon, Idris Elba would be a cool James Bond though, internets been talking about it for years, think he's got the look and the acting chops for it.

A transgendered man playing a cisgendered Bond wouldn’t bother me, assuming the actor is convincing. But the Bond character is cisgendered. Bond’s sex and gender and orientation are fundamental to his character in a way that his ethnicity isn’t. That may not be true for other characters, but I think it is for Bond.

I agree with not changing Bond the character. So far, it seems like it's only trans actors saying they would play the part. I would too. I bet a bunch of gay actors would love to play a gay Bond.

However, Bond is Bond. James Bond, not Jane Bond.

The essence of the character trait some are concerned about is sexuality, attractiveness, cleverness, manipulation. It doesn't matter what sex or gender Bond is. What matters is that Bond is the sexiest, most interesting person in every room. That could get rather edgy with a trans Bond.

Claiming a trans can't be that is bigoted and, frankly, I'd be concerned if I was and the opinion was that of my significant other.

A trans can be the sexiest, most interesting person in the room.

James Bond is not known for wearing disguises. He sometimes wears a uniform related to whatever task he has to accomplish, but he's usually above that and stays true to his international business man look. I personally would not mind Idris Elba but since he's doing Luther again, that seems to be out. Personally my vote is Ruby Rose. She has the gender bender thing going on, she kicked ass in John Wick 2, and she apparently wants to do it too.

I mean after all, she tried to take on John Wick...

I must stop there. I believe a chasm exists that I cannot cross.

I'm not obsessed with the franchise and I've seen all the movies some years ago, but he didn't seem to wear too many disguises. I mean, I'm currently watching the Americans and they wear at least three different disguises every episode.

Dont agree with this either... just make a new character for him. He is awesome and would do great.

Good point actually, Zachery Quino (spelling?) is a gay man but plays a straight Spock... in fact, he might be better than the original.
