I don't understand this take on what he said. Here's from the excerpt this blog post is based on:
“We believe there should be an amendment to the stand-your-ground law that simply says you cannot be the initial aggressor,” said Benjamin Crump, the Martins’ attorney. “You cannot start the confrontation. You cannot pick the fight, and then shoot the person, put your hands in the air and say, ‘I was standing my ground.’”
So do you disagree with that? Would you define that as a "victim disarmament act?" Let's forget about Trayvon Martin and look at what this "proposed amendment" could do. There was another case in Minnesota regarding CeCe McDonald. McDonald was called racist and homophobic slurs by a group of men. The men then attacked her and those with her. One of the men broke a bottle and smashed McDonald in the face with it, requiring stitches. She fought back, attacked him with a pair of scissors, and killed him. What happened? She was sentenced to jail time for the incident. It was initially 3 years, although later it was reduced. Nonetheless, isn't this the kind of thing that conservatives are outraged about it? Apparently not, because I posted about this months back and nobody responded.

It seems to me that you would wholeheartedly agree with Mr. Martin on this issue, so I don't get what you're upset about.

Also, that blog post repeats very stupid talking points like the completely unfounded assertion that Trayvon was on his was to make "lean," even though he had no drugs or opiates in his system. And it says that DXM can be used to make lean, which isn't true. It also claims that trace amounts of marijuana in his system could have altered his behavior, which makes no sense, because the fact that there were TRACE amounts in his system proves he hadn't recently been smoking. And the idea that he has passionate bloodlust and an obsession with violence is so, so stupid. Can't people just stop with the nonsense and agree that this was a horrible situation that is now OVER?

Well, I didn't see Tracy Martin speaking about disarming the Crips. You know the gang that Tracy is affiliated with. I wonder if Tracy was grooming Trayvon for his gang. You know that the fig doesn't fall far from the tree.

If ANYONE thinks it's just a random choice of words that the OP used when using the phrase 'the fig doesn't fall far from the tree' - do not be so naive. The expression is 'apple'. Always has been and always will be. Looking into the OP's history of racially charged postings, I posit that the brownish, wrinklyish fruit was obviously chosen to connote some 'visual' connection that the OP wants to make in his lame attempt at veiled racism. I have NEVER called anyone out on racism before but this is just ridiculous already. This is not political debate, it's freakin' hillbilly code speak.
I call on conservatives and liberals alike to call this OP out on this type of post.

(If you disagree, fine, I don't want to start another 'racist'/'racism'/martin/zimmerman thread - just bash me here please)

So now we have a pic of Tracy Martin dressed in RED and supposedly "Crippin" followed by the suggestion that "fig" is somehow or other racial.

If this thread doesn't end up on the Sewer in the near future I will have lost all faith in humanity.

Yes. I do.
A person should not be able to act out violently against another once the other has disengaged, or has made it clear they wish to.
If that person refuses to stop the aggression, then the initial aggressor should be able to respond with deadly force if they are of a reasonable belief of fear of loss of life or great bodily harm.

I believe your narrative is off.
In addition, this was a plea bargain, if they were not guilty of a crime, they should not have made a deal for a lesser sentence.

Please correct me where my narrative was off, then. Plea deals aren't simply bargains you make when you're guilty. They are deals you are advised to make when your lawyer informs you that things probably will be worse off for when you don't take them. Just wondering how, in a world where the victim supposedly has so much protection under the law, it isn't at all consistent?

The thing that is so stupid about self defense laws is that a person could stalk you, threaten to kill you, and if you try to protect yourself, they have the right to kill you. I'm not saying that happened, I'm saying that would be fine under current law.

While it wouldn't deliver the same effects as lean, it would certainly **** you up and can't imagine people not using it in similar ways.

1. Bloods wear red. Crips wear blue.
2. Three of the guys have on red shirts that appear to have Masonic symbols on the left breast. Two have on black shirts.
3. There is a trend, a regrettable one, with lots of black men to take pics acting "gangsta" or "thug" even if they have no such ties and wouldn't know what to do with a real gangsta if they met one. This could easily be a bowling league picture, or just some random friends.

I'm no fan of TM's father's actions before during or after the trial, but this pic is .... dubious....

I'm not sure you understand current self defense laws. Given the right context, I imagine those would be grounds for self defense. But the key here, and the key to any self defense claim is context. it is highly dependent on what a rational person would do and perceive in such circumstances. Also, I imagine you're citing stalking in reference to the Martin case (I'll leave the threat alone, since there is simply no evidence of such), but stalking is a legal term with a very specific meaning. And what zimmerman did that night in no way approaches that burden

Trayvon Martin and the "Crips"

July 16, 2013

Via The Other McCain (some allegations)

Here’s something else you don’t know. From the age of 3 until age 15 or 16, Trayvon Martin lived NOT with Sybrina Fulton but with Tracy Martin, a known member of the Crips, and his then-wife Alicia Stanley-Martin, who was mentioned above. Alicia Stanley-Martin in that interview with Anderson Cooper said Trayvon spent 90% of his life in her home being raised with her two daughters from a previous relationship.

When Tracy Martin dumped Alicia for Brandy he sent Trayvon to live with Sybrina — a woman he hardly knew. The two didn’t get along at all. Sybrina kicked Trayvon out two days before he jumped Zimmerman

It is also alleged that Tracy initiated "... Trayvon into the Crips, including purchasing illegal guns on the street."

The reason this bears looking into is that the Crips are not know to stop before they kill someone. If this is true, George Zimmerman may have been killed if he had not had a gun. It also give impetus to the suspicion that the Martin family is cold-bloodedly cashing in on Trayvon’s death.

Considering the fact that Zimmerman did not start the fight, how does this apply to Martins sons case?

Which is exactly what Martin did to Zimmerman.

Martin watched Zimmerman from the darkness (stalking), threatened to kill Zimmerman (as evidenced by Zimmerman statements) and then did try to kill him. It was lucky Zimmerman had his gun or he would have been a statistic.

I wasn't referencing the Zimmerman case. The standard of perceived threat should be dependent upon the circumstances to some degree. The jury in the Zimmerman case knew that the circumstances were irrelevant to the self defense case. They were right, but I think the law should be amended as well. If you initiate an altercation, you should face manslaughter at the very least if you wind up killing the person you initiated, even if that person is to attack you. That's my opinion. Whether or not that applies to the Zimmerman case doesn't matter. The case highlighted the absurdity of the law which, in effect, allows people to legally kill each other any time they are afraid they'll be badly hurt. I guess that means every UFC fight will now end with a fatal gunshot wound.
