I don't think your idea of partisan hackery is quite on the same level as reality. Someone asks Trump a "tough" question and all of a sudden it's "That's a biased moderator! They're trying to help out Biden". Some of that shit ain't even tough, Trump just makes it tough. Like the QAnon thing. Trump has to know who they are, if he actually doesn't then that speaks quite poorly of Trump himself. How hard is it to say "Those bitches be crazy!"? Denounce White Supremists...."Those bitches be crazy!". But Trump makes it harder by being horrible at his job. Biden got "tough" questions too, they pushed on him for court packing and his support of the Crime Bill in the 90's. But he didn't implode when asked those questions.

ABC hosted one for Biden-the moderator was well known Clinton staff member and Democrat George Stephanopoulos.
