Last year I spent one month in a host family close to San Francisco (it was great and I want to come back!!!) it was very cool but there is one thing that surprised me a lot:

In the airplane, they give you a green paper asking if

1) you carried a bomb
2) you were a terrorist ("do you plan to commit a terrorist act in the USA?")
3) you were a spy
4) you or your dad/grandpa are linked to nazi war criminals
...
if you want the complete list, I'll check, it's with my other souvenirs from the States (I'm also proud because a Marine tried to enrol me! :D )

Do you really believe a terrorist would tell you "Hey guy, arrest me, I'm a nazi terrorist carrying a bomb and if you let me in I bomb the white house!"

HAHAHA

Yeah, I remember that when I applied for a visa 1½ year ago (I was an exchange-student in AR) and saw those questions.

Seriously, who in their right mind would answer Yes to any of those questions?? If you in fact are a terrorist, I doubt you'll actually tell the customs/whoever deals with those green papers..

I didn't mind the security check at the airports at all though, just made me feel safer. The thing I just can't believe is that you Americans were allowed to go all the way to the gate even when you weren't going on the airplane before 9/11.. or that in some airports, the baggage claim is open to the public.. easy to steal stuff or what?

btw, I too loved the US, and I just want to say that you all are lucky to live in that country!

Probably an additional criminal charge they can attach to the charges if you ever commit an act of terrorism.
