Motors running off what? Some D-Cell batteries? Those bikes are pretty slim and light.

Actually, I don't think it would be that hard to hide a motor and power supply inside a bicycle...

They are quite small these days.

The output of the motor is def going to more than makeup for the weight of the power source. They used to say the same things about heavier than air-aircraft.
