I think its because he doesn't have a defensive lineman in his face and he is in a press box with a better view of the field and more time to scan the field.

In case you might have missed it, Romo put up pretty good numbers as a QB. It was fun to make fun of him but he actually was pretty good.

He sounds like a football player that played the game.

A lot of ex-players in the booth are able to do so. Tony Romo is just getting a lot of hype because he is big name that recently retired.
