the tomato is a passion of the wife n i. we grow them and make unique foods outta them. the hottest debate on planet earth is what to we call this amazin food? is it a veggy or a fruit? heres why us tomato experts say its a fruit. its a juicy inside and seeds within. this is a remarkable debate and would love to hear ur input. if u have any questions about the tomato pleaz ask i know the answer.

Depends on who's using the term. Scientifically tomatoes are fruits because they are seed bearing. Cooking wise they're considered vegetables because they're used in savory applications.

Homemade Tomato Paste Recipe - Food.com

this is a recipe my wife uses. a few things we changed for a better paste:

1. usin less than one table spoon of honey. we just use a tiny splash. trust me u will get the flavor. dont wanna over do it.
2. we avoid addin onions. it adds an odd smell to the paste and smell is important when eatin. i triggers flavor censors
3. add one table spoon of italian dressin. this makes it spread better and u get a great smell

last make sure an get a french baget, pop it in the oven for a bit, then cut up slices and enjoy!
 
Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
 
I need to start some. Got a pack of heirloom variety seeds but haven't been motivated to plant them indoors yet because I have a problem with hardening off so I wait later to where I can move them outside sooner in their growth. They become my late season tomatoes. I just buy live plants mostly. I do have a row of consistent volunteer cherry tomatoes where I throw my tomato scraps out during the fall winter so they will do that.
 

So its annoying.. I go to buy groceries... I usually use self checkout. For produce I often have to use the on screen lookup as there isn't a barcode.
So the store I go to has Tomatoes classified as a vegetable.. but it has Avocados classified as a fruit.
 

that sounds like a nitemare
