And your point is? Mine was that they could have gathered all the evidence they needed in the nearly 2 yrs it took.
We just had a mass shooting here and they are tearing down the cafeteria where it happened. Was that faked too?
Times change. And young kids are more easily traumatized...if it would no longer be a viable learning environment, it was not useful. I dont really agree with the decision but can understand the logic. And that's the key word here....logic.
I'm not saying the govt and the locals in CT didnt use that shooting to further their own agendas but no way in Hell was it faked.
And it's STILL about mental health and gun control. Always has been, always will be unfortunately.

I do believe New York is "outside CT". As well as Colorado.??? What? Not everything can be fixed with laws. Not that gun violence can be either. Certainly lots of discussions on solutions arose re: mental health. And outside CT, how many gun control laws were enacted? They all failed here.

I disagree - any quality loaded weapon carried and handled intelligently is safe.
I carry a Kahr PM45 daily - it is a striker fired weapon with no manual safety.
When I first purchased it 5 years ago, I was concerned about it's safety, as it had no manual safety.
I read an article which advised to completely unload the weapon and carry it around the house and see how many times the gun 'went off', which was zero.
I did exactly that, and it was exactly and perfectly safe!
Loaded weapons do not bother me in the least, as I have complete confidence in my ability to be safe, and the gun's design.
The old adage of carrying with an empty chamber was rooted in ignorance and fear.
It also stems from the old habit of carrying a SA revolver with the hammer over an empty chamber - this was due to the firing pin being externally mounted on the hammer - a blow to the hammer would fire a live round due to the fact that the firing pin rested on the round's primer.
The new transfer bar technology for SA revolvers required the trigger to actually be pulled back in order to allow the firing pin to access the live round.
Proper gun handling will circumvent the concerns of having a live round in the chamber.
Also, trying to rack a slide to chamber under stress in order to fire an auto when needed would be much more dangerous in adding additional steps prior to firing.
I am not beating you up here at all, just conveying information.
