Definitely leisure suits. I'd add to that virtually anything made of polyester, which has an elastic waistband.

I had a feeling the first person to defend those would be a male. :)

To be honest, while they might not be "high fashion" any more, I don't see them going away as lingerie any time soon either.

I guess I can deal with that.

I have it on good authority that the next thing in fashion for men is to wear a Mexican serape, an ascot, and a fez, all together, and if you really want to be chic, grow a Salvador Dali mustache...

I don't really mind the modern kind like this:

But it's the old fashioned ones I would prefer to not bring back:

Properly fitted ones that are closer to the "olde" style actually provide excellent support without hindering most activities. They do require some getting used to and a little bit of time to perfect the wearing of, but from the multitude of female acquaintances I have who wear them some to all of the time, many actually find them preferable to a modern underwire bra.

On women: Capri pants.

Looks like you shrunk your laundry and didn't have any clean decent-fitting pants to wear that day.

fashion from 1984 to 1991. it stained the entire decade, and unfortunately, these trends go in 30 year cycles. we're due for the 80s again, and i work on a college campus, so i'm already seeing it.
