I watched Tim Russert interview Al Franken today on CNBC about Franken's new book..........

I have to give Russert credit, he tore Franken a new *** about the lies and inconsistencies in the book.........

It was great to see..........

ha ha I'm watching it right now.

I love when Russert brings up Hilary Clinton, who makes a more explicit connection between 9-11 and Saddam Hussein than Cheney or Bush.:doh

I wanted to see that. Anyone got a link or a transcript?

What specifics did Russert nail Franken on?

He got him on his book pointing out a bunch of lies...............He also got him on WOMD pointing out among others that the "Ice Princess" Hillary even said after the war started that Saddam had WOMD and needed to be removed................

Russert carved him up pretty good

He really got him when in Franken's book he said that Bush told him on Meet the Press there was a connection to Saddam and 9/11.........Russert said it never happened.........Franken's book is just like Moore's movie..........Lies and propaganda........

Re: Tim Russert interviews Al Franein

One of my very good friends from high school is an incredibly liberal girl. Her entire family is active in liberal politics, and her older brother has worked as personal assistant/researcher for several prominent liberal speakers/authors. He was Al Franken's personal assistant for 4 months, and told me that Franken was by far the biggest asshole he'd ever worked for. This kid agreed with Franken on nearly every issue going in, and left despising the man more than anyone I know on the right. He said he was just one of the most distasteful people he'd ever met.

Which seems kind of sad to me, I've always liked him a lot. I especially liked this book of his.

I'd like to see the transcript - or see the show. Franken is usually very diligent about checking facts and admitting mistakes when he makes them.

Russert carved McCain a new one today on MTP, especially on how McCain is bowing down to the religious right and Falwell, after calling Bush a "Robertson Republican" in 2000. That's pretty much Ruusert's style every week. As McCain said and I'm paraphrasing, everyone says stupid stuff, and I'm sure you (Russert) will show me some stupid things I said.
