Three Holy Kings banned from nativity scene in church

Stating historical fact isnt racism. How you equate the two could only mean youre defending Nazism.

Well somebody has to pick up the slack since Ontarian Canucks only care about trapping beavers so they could sew more of those codpieces theyre so fond of wearing in the wintertime.

I'd ask you what you're talking about, but you never seem to know. Which is disappointing, because I just care...so....much....

lol

But you do care. That's why you keep replying to me. Actions speak louder than words. :ROFLMAO:

Meh...don't read too much into it. I've watched the entire Trailer Park Boys series like six times. Sometimes I just like to laugh. :)

Why shouldn't a church decide what they want to display in their own church?

We had talked about that already.

Why must every stupidity always be excused because there seems to be a right to be stupid - even for churches?

Why shouldn't a church decide what they want to display in their own church? No one is forcing the church to do anything they made their own decision of what Christmas decorations they would put out.

Actually, in Germany they can't do anything they want to. For example, while they can declare black people could never be kings, it can't outright fly the Nazi flag. Maybe they could change the appearance of the black kings to look like black janitors and then blacks in the scene would be correct to that church.

You have not understand a thing of what the topic in question is.
And your constant hatred of anything German is more and more fanatical and racist -
and complety bsside the point.

LOL your aloof "I dont care" act is so blatantly fake no one is falling for it, bro. Try something else.

Who cares? If I decide to put up frosty instead of santa it's no ones business. If the church decides not to put up wise men that is their business. If the people who belong to that church object they can take it up with the church leaders.

Why do some think that it is their business what a church decides to do on their own property by their own choice? Do you belong to that church?

The topic is about a church in Germany. The history of Germany is horrific, across centuries. The belief of Germans that they are a superior race dates back into ancient times. A person's RACE is extremely decisive and defining of a person within the core of German self identity across over 2,000 years - to this day.
What I am posting is one of many possible motives of that particular church within Germany. Then again, it is just one church and you can always find any church - or other category of organizations - that does nutty and/or something really awful, stupid, hateful or bizarre.

I keep reading business business business business
And: Who cares? Who cares? Who cares? Who cares?

Answer: I care.
And it is everybody's business to care about such things.
I understand that you do not understand.

Then I suggest that you go to Germany become a member of that church, then bring it up with the church leadership.

Is this topic so hard to understand?

He IS in Germany!

He IS in Germany!

Yes - I am! :)
But not in the fine old city of Ulm yet.

Anyway - this topic is not a special German topic.
It is a universal topic.

No, it's not. It's a catholic one. Me, I don't care what they choose.

No, it's not. It's a catholic one.

Sorry, but that is absolute nonsense now.
The church in question is a Protestant church.

And the main topic here is alleged racism, which is a universal topic.

Here is some info about the church in question:

Ulm Minster (German: Ulmer Münster) is a Lutheran church located in Ulm, State of Baden-Württemberg (Germany). Until the eventual completion of Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, it will remain the tallest church in the world,[3] and the 5th tallest structure built before the 20th century, with a steeple measuring 161.5 metres (530 ft).[3]

Sometimes erroneously referred to as Ulm Cathedral because of its great size, the church is not a cathedral as it has never been the episcopal see of a bishop. Though the towers and all decorative elements are of stone masonry, attracting the attention of visitors, most of the walls, including the façades of the nave and choir, actually consist of visible brick. Therefore, the building is sometimes referred to as a brick church. As such, it lays claim to the rank of second- to fourth-largest, after San Petronio Basilica in Bologna and together with Frauenkirche in Munich and St. Mary's Church in Gdańsk. The tower however was mainly built from sandstone.[4]

Ulm Minster was begun in the Gothic architecture of the Late Middle Ages but the building was not completed until the late 19th century after a hiatus of centuries. When work ceased in the 16th century all of the church except the towers and some outer decorations were complete, unlike at Cologne Cathedral, where less than half of the work had been done before construction halted in the 15th century.

Visitors can climb the 768 steps that lead to the top of the minster's spire. At 143 m (469 ft) it gives a panoramic view of Ulm in Baden-Württemberg and Neu-Ulm in Bavaria and, in clear weather, a vista of the Alps from Säntis to the Zugspitze. The final stairwell to the top (known as the third Gallery) is a tall, spiralling staircase that has barely enough room for one person.

Cathedral in Germany axes ‘racist’ 1920s statue of black king from its nativity

A 100-year-old statue of a black king has been banned from the nativity display of a cathedral in southern Germany after some in the parish called it “racist and disgusting.” Others, though, say it shouldn't be removed or hidden.
The Evangelical Church District of Ulm in the south of the country announced on Sunday that it would remove the three wise men from Christmas displays at Ulm Cathedral this festive season. The statues include the figure of King Melchior, whose dark black skin, large red lips and hunched posture have been called “racist.”

The move comes amid an ongoing race debate in Germany, which recently saw calls for an investigation into racism within the country’s police force.

The dean of the cathedral, Ernst-Wilhelm Gohl, said members of his parish had labelled the wooden carving “disgusting and racist.”

Why not replace the figure in question with the statue of another Holy Black King?
And the problem would be solved.

Instead the Three Holy Kings are removed altogether.

That is the point that I object to.

One poster thinks that the church is a Catholic Church and therefore the topic is a Catholic topic.
Another poster goes on and on and on that all Germans are very bad Nazis.
What next?

It's Germany, where National Socialism was invented, so what else is new?

I had a similar take, when are the German’s not upset about something?

In short:

The problem is, that the statue of the black king is a kind of caricature of a black person.

If they replaced it with a normal statue of a black person, the problem would be solved.

But they take it as a pretext, to do away with the TREE HOLY KINGS altogether.

That is the news:

German church wants black image of three kings banned for ‘racist caricature’

What do you think of it?
This decision is (explicitly) being made for the purpose of winning favor with the world. The motives of the board are (by their own admission) the exact opposite of good motives.

It's really unfortunate that they are getting rid of the wise men. The graven images of Zoroastrian prophets were always my favorite part of nativity scenes.

Exactly! I agree 100 % :)

So it was always with me as a child - and still is! :)
