Thoughts from a Disillusioned Republican

you can't blaim yourself, if the large corporations move all the good jobs overseas.

you can't blaim yourself, if the Republicans hold job-creating tax-cuts for the Middle-class hostage to controversial oil projects.

It's not just larger corporations that outsource and sometimes outsourcing can be good to get certain talent, but besides that I would say it is bad and is just an excuse for cheap labor.

Having such a large percentage of the citizenry on government entitilement programs is economically unsustainable. We can see evidence of this in many socialistic European countries. I sympathize with the OP's situation, but multiply that by 100 million and it will bankrupt the nation.

How many conservatives on this board, true conservatives, not closet liberals like Wake, have made poor me threads? I already explained why I have no compassion. Because he has time to post thousands of threads on debate politics, but can't find a job?

Hey wake, debate politics isn't hiring, get out and look for a job! I did!

Supporting government intervention does not make you a liberal or "closet liberal". There are many independents who support government intervention to some extent.

Most liberals aren't victims, but most victims are liberals. Big difference.

riiiight. Which is why the GOP is always waving the victim flag about how every is out to get them.

Wake, have you ever considered there might be other solutions? That you don't have to swing from Republican, faux free market ideology to quasi-social democracy? Have you ever considered Catholic Social Thought? Economics is one area where so many people seem to only have a one-track mind these days.

I don't think religious donations are as efficient as government funding. Foodshare to me is far more effective than church donations.

I'm sorry, I don't buy that the OP can't find a job. I think he either doesn't want to find a job or he's being picky. I have two college degrees and you know what I did today for income? Scrubbed toilets. Know what I did after that? Mopped floors. After that? Restocked bathrooms with toilet paper, etc. Is it fun? No. Is it income? Yes. I didn't make a poor me thread on debate politics, I busted my ass to find work. Some of the things I do at work are fun, but some suck. I could have easily refused to scrub toilets with two college degrees. But then it would be ME making the poor me threads. Right now, you gotta do what you gotta do. Have you put in an application at every single fast food joint within 10 miles? Have you put in an application at the local Wal Mart? Have you put in an application at every industrial complex within 10 miles? I know you haven't, because you're too good for those jobs. And when I say put in an application, I don't mean fill out a piece of paper and leave. I mean fill it out and ask to meet the manager and hand it to him directly. How do I know this works? Because I was scrubbing toilets today. And for the record, I've been through a lot of **** that should be keeping me from a job but after everything happened, I found myself more blessed than ever before with work.

Surely that job you have doesn't pay well. Are you on some type of welfare? Do you get money back from the government at tax time (tax credits for the poor)? Do you even pay your fair share ($12,000/year for everyone in your family) of federal income tax? Are you saving and investing 40 or 50 thousand dollars a year minimum for the future? Can you even afford to send your kids to private school? Do you even have health insurance or are you on medicaid? You must be a complete looser if you have two degrees and all you do is clean toilets and stock toilet paper. Those arn't jobs for and educated person, you are a total waste of education. You probably don't even deserve the job you have, you should be thankful for it and not complaining. It's people like you who complain about having to do a few easy tasks at work that disgust most conservatives. Stop whining you jeolous little person. You should bow down and thank the rich for even allowing you bread to eat. You are basically a worthless slacker with no purpose in life. You should feel guilty for taking up a spot in college that someone who is more worthy could have been in. If you weren't such a looser, you would have inherited or just live off of your trust fund and be an important member of society by providing capital to create jobs with. But you don't even have a trust fund. Unless you have money, you have no merit. You suck. Stop whining. Worthless slacker. [/conservative hate speach]

From your point of view, you make yourself sound like some type of hero for having this no skill job, but to most conservatives on this board, they would have no issue with attacking you for being a leach on society. They would turn their nose up at you and call you every filthy name in the book. Some of them wouldn't even speak to you as they "don't speak to the help" (quote from recent DP thread). Don't believe me? Then start another thread explaining how it sucks that someone with two degrees has such a lousy job, and watch them attack you (just like I just did).

By the way, I am not one of those conservatives. What I said above was only to illustrate a point.
