And the kids will grow up without their father. Mom will probably lose the house.

Get the vaxx, people!

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Healthy and in their 30s, Christina and Josh Tidmore figured they were low-risk for COVID-19. With conflicting viewpoints about whether to get vaccinated against the virus filling their social media feeds and social circles, they decided to wait.

On July 20, Josh came home from work with a slight cough initially thought to be sinus trouble. On Aug. 11, he died of COVID-19 at a north Alabama hospital as Christina Tidmore witnessed a doctor and her team frantically try to resuscitate her husband.

“She would say, ‘I need a pulse. ‘I would hear, ‘no pulse,’ “Christina Tidmore said through tears. “They were trying so hard.”

“Nobody should go through this. He was only 36 and I’m 35 and we have three kids.”

She is now imploring young adults not to dismiss the risk and to consider getting vaccinated.

“Josh was completely healthy, active, not a smoker,” she said. He would have turned 37 on Saturday.

Doctors say they are seeing a spike in cases among young adults and children as the highly contagious delta variant sweeps through unvaccinated populations. Medical officials say there is conflicting information on whether it makes people more severely ill or whether young people are more vulnerable to it, but it’s clear the contagiousness means more young people and children are getting sick.

Besides all the immediate human suffering, we have also are stuck with the societal & economic costs.

Someone has to pay the hospital bills, and someone has to support & educate those kids - kids who now are fatherless & at risk, where we may have to support them, or even perhaps imprison or rehabilitate them if they don't get a good male role-model in their lives.

Yep - all these costs are all conveniently ignored by all the right wingers' "studies" of how "cure is worse than the disease".

And kids without fathers!

The older I get, the more I see the risk boys without fathers can carry. If I had to pick one parameter that makes the most defining difference in a boy's life, it's that of a supportive, loving, ethical, compassionate father. But one not afraid to temper compassion with measured tough love when needed!

"“It’s just a fight out there. This side and that side, and political garbage. ... You don’t know who to believe,” she said. Christina Tidmore said she has no doubt that they would have made a different choice now, knowing so many more people who have contracted the virus."

That's what you get after spending so long telling people that "everybody has an opinion" equates to "every opinion is equally valid and thus deserving of respect." Nevermind the rampant anti-intellectualism in America.

If you don't know whether to trust a team lead by the guy who has kicked all sorts of ass as an epidimiologist because some lying shitbag on Fox attacks them, the problem is you. Ditto if you think changing responses to meet new circumstances is weakness or lying.

Fauci? The man who ok's funding "gain of function" research in the Wuhan virology lab? Ole one mask, two mask, red mask blue mask guy. No mask needed if you are outdoors. No mask needed if you are fully vaccinated.

If that picture doesn’t scare you I don’t know what will.
