It isn't a bad here as other places, for example YouTube where dozens of comments start out with: "As a XXX with YYY years of experience in the trade/profession I have seen countless cases of ZZZ. Then 'expert' analysis with recommended solutions will soon follows.
I think it my social responsibility to educate the dumbasses.Over the years, in here, but also on other debate forums, you will get people claiming they are "experts" at something, have degrees in this or that, and have credentials that allow them to speak on a certain subject.
But............. this IS the internet. For those experts, it is commonly understood that the more you boast about your credentials the more important it seems that you have a need to convince us.
For example: I was, before I retired, a brain surgeon AND a rocket scientist. Now who here is going to say I wasn't? If I say I was, then I was. I would never lie or exaggerate. Not on the internet.
So, why do it?
I could give examples, try this thread........I don't think most people do unless asked.
OR brag about credentials they don't actually have.I understand that there are those who use their experience/credentials
I did it for you, but in order to do that, I had to go to "edit vote."I think it my social responsibility to educate the dumbasses.
So I clicked on 6.An expect on a subject needs to spread his knowledge to strangers on a debate forum.
The poll will not accept my vote. ????
Tried twice. Maybe a Canadian locked me out?I did it for you, you just have to put a check mark in the box before the number you are voting for
I corrected my last comment.Tried twice. Maybe a Canadian locked me out?
Yeah, but as you said, no way to tell unless one has the same credentials and can throw questions at the poster that only someone with the credential could credibly aswer.OR brag about credentials they don't actually have.
I would be the worlds greatest ever baseball player if I decided to start playing.
I don't want to upset you guys by being a British guy who dominated the sport you love though as that would be impolite.
I don’t think I ever ran into that, credentialed that is. If so, I just spaced right over it.Over the years, in here, but also on other debate forums, you will get people claiming they are "experts" at something, have degrees in this or that, and have credentials that allow them to speak on a certain subject.

Cricket has seen quite the increase in popularity in the US.
It's nowhere near as complicated as some seem to think it is and has fans all over the world.
The hub of the game is now India where it's huge and has vast amounts of money involved compared to the UK.
I really enjoy a nice glass of Bourbon, then I more enjoy all the "experts" around here tell us the news.
Many years ago, 1981, as an Appalachian Trail thru-hiker, Georgia to Maine, I met a young and delightful English dentist, born and raised in Stratford-upon-Avon, a town renowned as the birthplace of William Shakespeare.Cricket has seen quite the increase in popularity in the US.

I had a good laughwhen my English hiking friend explained that cricket games often went on for days only to end undecided due to rain.
