Imagine that you live in a town that has been taken over by gangsters. The mayor is a crook and so are the district attorney and police chief. You can’t fight city hall. But at least you know you can turn for help to the state or federal government. Now imagine that it’s not a city or state that has been taken over by criminals — it’s the federal government. Anyway, I wonder what Boot has to say about all the information coming out about the corrupt Obama administration? Where did he weigh in on the IRS scandal? What does he think about the tens of thousands of NSA database queries by FBI subcontractors...85% of which were illegal...since 2012?
And yet, Mueller found no criminal activity in the Trump administration.

Max Boot is an actual conservative, the Right in this country has departed from the principles of Liberal Conservatism for in a cynical ploy for power. Max Boot is an actual conservative, the Right in this country has departed from the principles of Liberal Conservatism for in a cynical ploy for power. The Right is moving away from the Liberal tradition towards theocracy and ethnocentrism.
I don't find it surprising Chomsky and Boot agree here, they probably agree on more since Chomsky actually too has roots in the Liberal tradition if one ever hears his take on Adam Smith this will be made clear.

Then why make the statement? Obviously because he was punting obstruction of justice to Congress since he could not place charges due to DOJ policy. And why refer over a dozen investigations to other prosecutors if everything is squeaky clean?"he couldn't conclude no crime was committed"
A prosecutor never has the job of "concluding that no crime was committed". That means that statement is nonsense.

Many conservatives are Never Trumpers, it specifically describes conservatives of various varieties. He supports free trade, which has a long history of support in the conservative tradition, along with support for limited government which is the core of the Liberal Conservative Tradition in the Anglo-American sphere. He used to write for the Wall Street Journal which leans Right. He is more closely aligned to Libertarianism or Neoconservatism than the Protectionist Right Wing Populism that currently dominates the White House.Max Boot is not now nor has he every been a conservative.
