This Is What Democratic Socialists In The US Will Bring Us:

I watched a show recently on Robin Hood. He may or may not have existed. It's very possible that "Robin Hood" was based on an actual person. If so, the person he was based on is highly likely to have been a thief who robbed from the rich and gave to himself and his friends, not the "poor". In these socialist countries we have often found that most everyone is more or less equal, while those in power grab most of the money for themselves.
So when you can't disparage actual redistributive systems that work, you go after fictional ones. Sounds about right.

By the way, if you want to see a system where "those in power grab the most money for themselves"? Look at the US. Income and wealth inequality is growing, while the wealthy bribe politicians to get their way. Thus we have an allegedly booming economy, where millions can't afford to continue their education, can't afford health insurance, can't afford medical care, can't even scrape together $1000 cash to deal with an emergency.

Hmmmmm.

The near-complete ignorance, and refusal to accept that they are so clueless, of many Americans about the actual nature of other nations is mind-boggling to this guy. I grew up in another country where my white skin meant I was a minority, I have lived in 7 other countries and visited many more.

Twenty years ago, sitting on the boat I was sailing back to the States, a group of us having drinks together were talking about the weird stuff we each found in places other than our citizenship countries. General thought about Americans was . . . nice people who talk too loud and and who are constantly surprised by things Europeans viewed as normal, stuff the Americans had never heard of when they were home in the States.

Why would I care if I pay for health insurance through my salary or through my taxes taken out of my salary. You could make the same argument about any part of government spending.

Do you pay taxes every year?

Let's try this simple thought exercise.
If you want to trot out your own "reverse gotcha!" from the Left please feel free to do so.
In a 2002 interview Ann Coulter had this to say, and I wonder if anyone here believes that this could be construed as advocating for terrorist acts.

Walter Duranty (May 25, 1884 – October 3, 1957) was a Liverpool-born, Anglo-American journalist who served as the Moscow Bureau Chief of The New York Times for fourteen years

In 1932 Duranty received a Pulitzer Prize for a series of reports about the Soviet Union, eleven of which were published in June 1931. He was criticized for his subsequent denial of widespread famine (1932–1933) in the USSR,[1] most particularly the mass starvation in Ukraine. Years later, there were calls to revoke his Pulitzer. In 1990, The New York Times, which submitted his works for the prize in 1932, wrote that his later articles denying the famine constituted "some of the worst reporting to appear in this newspaper."

Stalin Rose From Czarist Oppression to Transform Russia Into Mighty Socialist State. Joseph Stalin became the most important figure in the political direction of one-third of the people of the world. He was one of a group of hard revolutionaries that established the first important Marxist state and, as its dictator, he carried forward its socialization and industrialization with vigor and ruthlessness.

Maybe the NYT has done more to promote world terror than Ann Coulter.

This is probably the most bizarre, never mind being totally ineffective, attempt to equate the NYTimes and its reporting to the words of Ann Coulter, that we might have the pleasure of reading.

She immediately recanted, too. But nevermind that. Right?

Ann is a performance artist. Calling a politician a faggot, bomb The NY Times building, kids in cages are in summer camp, etc. Back in the 1960s, a young woman appeared on stage covered in chocolate syrup as some wierd statement. Same thing. Not to be taken seriously.

Everyone pays taxes in those countries, too. Try telling someone that gets an $8,000 refund every year that they get free healthcare but will no longer get their big ass refund. See what happens.

All expenses included, it's still dramatically cheaper than the US, for everyone.

Although they've successfully changed their public image to a significant degree, the NYT were the torch bearers of Soviet communism in America for decades, even going so far as to lie about the genocide of millions of people. When Joseph Stalin died in 1953, they wrote his obituary from the standpoint of admiration and respect, instead of condemning his murderous reign as a paranoid dictator. And today, the NYT columnist Michelle Goldberg says 'we can replace' those who are of a different political ideology than she is.

Who gives a **** what Ann Coulter says? Does she have billions of dollars, the ear of elected officials, and the false air of legitimacy that the NYT does? No. She has a Twitter account.

US also has free education, tho not for college.

If Bernie proposed K-12 public schooling in the 18th Century, the GOP would be grabbing their pitchforks.

People in the United States care when taxes are raised on them...

That is the point...

Bring on free healthcare for everyone. Bring on free education for everyone. Steal from the rich and give to the poor. Have the government take over and dictate to large employers. It's called a Utopian society and this is what a Utopian society looks like:

Not the Utopia I envision.

Strawman. No system can withstand an incompetent leader. Many on the right said the same thing about Medicare, yet no dystopia or 'utopia' happened. America is better, though not perfect, at managing such things than third world countries.

In CA free up to sophomore year in college.

Haven't you heard about the Special Utopian Forest Our Democrat Socialist Politicians have planned for us...Where money grows on trees!

We will all ride on our Special Unicorns thru the Forest and we will be able to gather all the money we need from those special Money Trees!

Plus, when it rains the trees are watered which replenishes all the money we pick from the trees!

After the rain, a Magnificent Rainbow appears in the sky! And here is the most Magnificent part of this Utopian Forest.

Strewn across an emerald green meadow under the Rainbow are colorful poppies and Pots of Gold.

Then we will all hear the Blue Birds of Happiness sing as they guide each and every one of us to our very own Pots of Gold!!!

Then all of our precious cargo will disappear before our eyes!

We will make necklaces of poppies put them around our necks and ride our Unicorns back home and find our precious cargo inside our homes.

And we will all live Happily Ever After in Our Utopian Cities!

The End.

Roseann:);)

You should change your occupation to strawman vendor, you have quite the inventory.

LOL. You guys believe that Democratic socialists are the right people running the government. Go back to post #1.

Yeah, better to have people who hate government running the government.

got it.

Wow, you're really clueless when it comes to what it's like to live in a more socialist country, aren't you?

I live in Canada, and it's a far far better place to live than the USA. We have more freedom, better healthcare, better education, less hatred, less racism, more caring, more equality.

Nothing is free, but we all share in the cost. And apparently unlike you, I'm more than happy if we all Canadians, including me, chip in so that everyone has a good education and good healthcare.

Maybe it's because we aren't nearly as religious that we're more willing to help our neighbours, and not so filled with hate and fear as Americans? What do you think?

Except of course that I linked to an article that shows differently.

I live in England and you are wrong. It is not illegal to say something offensive.

All expenses included, it's still dramatically cheaper than the US, for everyone.

The quality is dramatically lower, too. Mexico has universal healthcare, but I bet we won't be seeing you headed to Mexico for medical any time soon.

She's one of the greatest political thinkers in human history. The only way you can defeat her argument is to take her comments out of context and outright lie.

America is consistently ranked nowhere near the top in Healthcare outcomes, quality of care, life expectancy or percentage of people who can see a doctor at all.

You're uninformed and have never experienced anything else so you make up these stories.

Pretty much everyone agrees things are messed up in america but you guys want to keep things the same. I said look at venezuela with the wrong people running the government but you turned it into democratic socialists are the right people running the government. It's your kind of assbackwardness that keeps america serving the rich.
