The Russian president didn’t need concrete deliverables to come out of the meeting looking like a success.
The much-heralded meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin couldn’t have turned out much better for the Russian president.
He may not have gotten concrete things from Trump — sanctions relief or recognition that Crimea is part of Russia — but he was never expecting that. What Putin got was a seat at the most important table in the world.

Putin took the lead, speaking first. He dealt with specifics such as nuclear arms control, cyber security, Syria & the Ukraine. When Trump spoke, it was only to brag about his campaign & electoral college win, calling for Clinton's missing emails, the missing DNC server. “The probe is a disaster for our country,” he said.
Putin owned this summit & Trump acting like an insecure, narcissistic ninny. We now know who is calling the shots on the world stage & it's not Trump.
