I already posted the Nicolle Wallace "extermination" comment in another thread but this one actually tops that.
Here's former FBI guy Frank Figluzzi "not saying" that Trump is surreptitiously signalling Nazis because he ordered flags lowered for the victims of El Paso and Dayton. The comment starts at about 2:45.
Brian Williams..."journalist", Brian Williams doesn't challenge the assessment. He calls it "chilling" and eggs the knucklehead on. These people in the "news" no longer even question themselves! They make birthers look like the Romper Room kids and then pat themselves on the back for making these "assessments".
These aren't assessments. This is overt character assassination for the purpose of promoting political propaganda. Yeah, it's free speech but it damned sure isn't professional journalism and it damned sure isn't ethical.

He is. I've seen this on twitter. The exact memes he was warning about. He didn't say that Trump did it on purpose, maybe someone else like nat-c troll Stephen Miller thought of the date w/o telling trump, but these guys see symbols in everything. I see it all the time on twitter, especially the Qannon community. I don't know why conservatives no longer believe US Intelligence agencies after they claimed to be the party of law enforcement.
The malpractice part comes in when Brian Williams, instead of challenging Figluzzi or presenting an alternate theory (such as "Maybe Trump just wanted the flags at half staff for two days, one for El Paso and the other for Dayton") simply rolls with the conspiracy.
Listen, if you guys really believe that everything Trump says can reasonably be interpreted as promoting domestic terrorism then you can't logically deny that Figluzzi and Williams did the same.
If you choose to see only hatred and conspiracy in everything Trump says or does you will definitely find it but that's not because it's the truth, it's because you only see what you choose to see.
So, in summary:
The US president orders flags flown at half-mast.
But that means they'll be raised again on August 8th.
...which in short date format is 08/08, or 8-8.
...but 'H' is the 8th letter of the alphabet. Hence 8-8 could stand for H-H.
...and HH are the first letters of "Heil Hitler"
...hence neonazis might shoot up another Walmart.
It's rock-solid analysis, except it overlooks one critical element.
The flags will be raised in the year 2019. But 2019 can be split into 20 and 19, which correspond to letters T and S, or S-T when sorted lexicographically. ST are the first letters of "Shoot The". Many American flags are made in Mexico, hence the flag itself stands for "Mexicans". Putting these symbols together, we get "Shoot The Mexicans". The initial analysis is corroborated.
You've got to admire MSNBC for sharing it with the public. They could've sat on it. Gotten an hour's head start broadcasting the dead bodies over their competitors. But now all the cable networks will be able to pump out the dead body footage with due haste.

I really hadn't considered the "nothing to lose" aspect. There may be something to that.
The NY Times thing is incredibly disturbing. They changed the headline SPECIFICALLY to address a certain political agenda. If your job is to produce news then you're not supposed to have a political agenda!
I don't know where all this is going to end up but it's one hell of a mess. There really isn't an unbiased, reliable news source left in this country and some of the stuff that's coming out of the outlets that used to be news are at a propaganda level that would make former editors at Pravda and Tass blush.

Ive been using axios as a news source lately. They are as close to as being straight down the middle as i have found recently. They stick to facts and let people decide for themselves and they offer some context at the bottom of each article. The context part has some bias in it but the articles themselves are generally just objective facts.I really hadn't considered the "nothing to lose" aspect. There may be something to that.

Oh, the poor turtle is a "victim", he won't bring bi-partisan election protections to the floor....and he is pissing off his constituents.Twitter piling on the victim.

Yeah, the "Eight-Eight" for August 8 being a nazi signal is a bit of a /facepalm "WTF???" speculation that certainly made me choke on my drink. Although it wouldn't surprise me if Trump, who is clearly not a brainiac, is being pushed by members of his staff into saying stupid stuff like that either through ignorance or manipulation.
But speculating about "secret signals" on tv from a guy with a strong Intelligence pedigree seems like shooting his own credibility in the foot to me. It's a head-shaker. (Truth in Advertising, I stopped watching after that stunningly stupid speculation, so if Williams managed to clean it up later, I missed it.)

Personally I think it went far past media malpractice a long time ago.. It has been going on prior to the 2016 election and continues to this day. There is a reason why polls show the overwhelming majority do not trust the media.
Thursday has 8 letters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was also Hitler's second favouritest day of the week.
