This Is An Overwhelming Concern Of Conservatives

There are few issues that upset conservatives more than homosexuality (and abortion, but we’ll address that in a future post). They are certain living a gay lifestyle is a conscious choice. This is because most conservatives are unable to comprehend anything that differs from their narrow understanding of life. This narrow understanding (and often complete misunderstanding) encompasses many subjects.

But for transgender individuals, their veering off the course of the conservatives’ definition of total heterosexuality is due to one or more genetic anomalies. Such anomalies affect approximately 1 in 15,000 people (perhaps more world wide). Unfortunately, the right-wing's disdain for science and education puts this beyond the understanding of the vast majority of conservatives.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — North Carolina's largest city has passed a law allowing transgender people to choose public bathrooms that correspond to their gender identity, which the governor had called a threat to public safety and warned that the General Assembly may step in.

The Charlotte City Council voted 7-4 Monday to expand protections based on sexual orientation and gender identity, making it the latest frontier in a national debate on how businesses treat gay, lesbian and transgender customers. One of the revisions to the city's nondiscrimination ordinance allows people to choose restrooms corresponding to the gender with which they identify.

The CCC expanded protections; the NC legislature took issue with the toilet thing. No, there are no clean hands here; that said, who do you see arguing about pederasts in bathrooms?
