This is a coup: Protests Engulf Wisconsin Capitol as Outgoing Scott Walker and GOP Move to Cripple D

Obamacare was challenged. And found Constitutional..

Not the first time SCOTUS got something wrong. They are only human after all. SCOTUS getting things wrong is one of the reasons for Jury Nullification. But despite that they still have a better chance of actually making sure that our Constitution is upheld than anyone in the Legislative or Executive Branches of our government. If it wasn't for SCOTUS then either one of or both of the Legislative and/or Executive Branch would have become a dictatorship a long time ago.

The citizens are angry....And rightly so.....A small group of conservative white men are poised to thwart the will of the people...They will Fail

Remember when the Republican party was progressive?
No. That was a long time ago, about the time Democrat Progressives were pushing eugenics.

Right....that's what it is...in your RW fantasies.
Which false assumption are you making? That they're not the currently elected legislature, or that they're not passing legislation?

Just a small group of white citizens are angry.

Commie Dreams....haven't seen this Leftist rag before.
So, you don't like the OP's choice of news sources? This event has been widely covered. There is no denial of the fact that that Republicans, who were rejected by the public in both the gubernatorial and legislative votes, have locked in political dominance all the same. That's a power grab.

Your attempt to marginalize what happened and make excuses is weak. Seeing that their party lost, they are stripping away power from the offices that the other party won. There is no legitimacy in that act and they aren't even trying to justify what they are doing. It's about the Republican's antagonism to democracy.

This is democracy. They are a democratically-elected legislature elected to a two-year term. Now take your anti-democratic ranting elsewhere.

Walker got his ass booed tonight...He actually ran out of the capital rotunda in fear...Great to see the people voice their displeasure...Best he stay out of sight

Yeah, the people want high taxes, less money and more Government telling them how to live!

North Carolina.... Wisconsin .... Michigan .... what we are seeing is the Republican complete contempt for the people and election results. They want to stack the deck in any way possible - legal or illegal - ethical or otherwise - fair or unfair - to keep power and thwart their political enemies the Dems.

This is disgusting and cannot be allowed to stand. Recall efforts should begin in the Spring against any legislator who still holds office and votes for this travesty. Sadly, many are lame ducks who will hightail it out of town with the voters behind them with tar and feathers.

I think what's really hurting them is losing the house, DESPITE all the fancy and elaborate gerrymandering they have been doing all these years.

If it were Democrats doing this, you’d be losing your mind.

Republicans are subhuman filth.

Wisconsin, North Carolina and other states need to adopt a state constitutional amendment just like Michigan did in November to end gerrymandering and take redistricting out of the hands of politicians and give it to the citizens.

No, this thread is about a democratically-elected legislature legislating legislation.

That's just your pathetic defense. Because in your mind, Republicans are never wrong.

But this is ok, because Republicans are doing it. ...

If I were prone to crying, whining, and losing my mind, I'd be a Democrat.

Why do you want to reverse the will of the people who elected them to 2 and 4 year terms? Why are you trying to subvert the will of the voters and "undo democracy itself?"

Lol you’re kidding, right? You think rewriting the rules after taking it on the chin in an election is the “will of the people”? That is profoundly idiotic.

Republicans don't argue in good faith. That's why instead of just point out their BS, democrats are going to need to BS them back. Gerrymandering them and instituting power grabs just like this back are the only way to prevent it.

Really. I guess the president is a Democrat then.
If he were, there'd be a lot less crying and whining around here.

The only thing profoundly idiotic is people like you who want to subvert democracy and claim it's the other guys doing it.

What's hurting them is that they chose long ago to represent their own radical power rather than actually representing Americans. As the demographics changed, they found themselves having to cheat and distort their way past the Constitution, which is more of an inconvenient rag now. And thanks to manipulating right-wing media outlets like Fox News, the generally uneducated and easily manipulated conservative constituent actually believes that he stands for the Constitution, despite currently ****ting all over just about every single norm that has been established since it's inception.

Democracy is not protected because of a constitutions. History is quite clear on this. Democracy is protected because those charged to care about the spirit of a Constitution comes before all else. Find that in the GOP or it's blind fanatics these days.
