I can't remember ever seeing a better, more effective political ad than this one... It's an ad from Maryland congressional candidate Kimberly Klacik, who's running to fill Elijah Cummings' 7th District seat in Balitimore.

If every Republican candidate running for office in a major city ran ads like this, the political landscape would start shifting in democrat controlled cities like Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, Philly, New York, etc...

Check this out:

Full of statistical BS. The poorest counties in the country are Republican controlled.

What solutions do Republicans offer Blacks in Baltimore? Lower taxes? Cutting welfare? Ending ObamaCare? Supporting police brutality? More guns in the community?

Give me a break.

Down in conservative land after Republicans slashed the budget and gave away tas cuts, schools can't even stay open 5 days a week

With state budget in crisis, many Oklahoma schools hold classes four days a week

Were those Jared’s properties?

She got 25% of the vote in the special election on April 28th, maybe she will jump to 30% in November.

If republicans ran the blue cities, they would ignore the poor.

At most republicans would give the poor some advice like, "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps."

That is one of the most pathetic political add i have ever seen. All she did was run baltimore down and then suggest she could do better. But without giving even a hint as to how. American politics are about personality rather policy.

All she did was show you the disgraceful parts of Baltimore that the local politicians don't want people to see. In fact, there have been billions of dollars poured into the very neighborhoods she walked through in that video, and they look like that? Suggesting she could do better isn't a very high bar to meet. When you consider that the democrats have controlled that city for more than half a century, what exactly do the people of Baltimore have to lose?

The word that comes to my mind when describing this ad is not "pathetic", but "devastating"... Devastating to the democratic party. They should be ashamed of what their 53 years of leadership has yielded. This ad hits the democrats right between the eyes because it uses facts to highlight their incompetence and governance failure, which is why since late last night the ad has gone from 5 million views on Twitter, to more than 6.6 million this morning. More ads like this are what's needed to get black people in the inner cities to finally wake up and understand what voting democrat has actually gotten them. More ads like this = More black voters leaving the democratic plantation.

Think she will get 30% of the vote in November?

I can see where certain people outside her district might find this appealing but she needs to convince voters in HER district unless her campaign is just producing conservative porn.

I have no idea how many votes she'll get, but it won't be enough. You don't change people's voting habits over night, but if candidates keep producing ads like this, eventually that change will come.

In April, she got 25% of the votes cast against her opponent. Her opponent in Nov is the same.

She is unlikely to be able to produce any more ads like this after this election unless she is self-funding.

Then perhaps it's a party problem there swing

You may be right, but truthful, hard hitting ads like this are what's needed to bring about change in many of America's inner cities. Continuing to run ads like the one will either result in a) democrats getting off their asses and fixing things, or b) people voting them the hell out of office. This transcends politics for me because if I had a choice between democrats fixing the problems, or republicans getting elected and nothing changes, I'd choose the former.

I don't think so

That would mean they would have to give up their free$$$$

Like the free $ given to rich developers of the harbor in tax relief that the city gave up and thus denied themselves revenues and matching state funds. That's a Dem run city acting like Reps.

depends on the republican.

the republicans need new blood as well in some cases. unfortunately its hard to change while dems are putting their disastrous plans into place. 53 years.... what do the people of Baltimore have to lose?

It is a good ad for a Republican candidate that fits in well with the Republican mentality, which is to shovel misinformation and BS that messes with the minds of the ignorant!

First of all, there is nothing in the ad that says how she would change the problems in Baltimore. Words are cheap but no actual and real solutions were offered. The problems in Baltimore are not because of Democrats but because the people of Baltimore are poor and they have a large Black population that by the very nature of the United States, Black people have less opportunities to advance, make less money and are more oppressed than Whites. That is not a Baltimore problem but a U.S. problem.

The Democratic party's platform is for higher wages, more income/color/gender equality and more programs to help people accomplish more. Implementing this would help the people in Baltimore. Unfortunately, this costs money, it takes more taxes, it calls for more involvement in the community and that is not what the Republican platform is all about. Republicans are for lower taxes, less help from government and for individual advancement. How can any of that help poor Black people in areas where few jobs of any consequence are found.

How in the world can Baltimore (or any other city in the U.S. with a high Black population) ever get out of their problems if no money is spent to improve their conditions. Spending money is not something the Republicans are for. The Democrats are for that.

As such, the ad is good but it is exactly what Trump is doing, which is conning people. It is evident Kim Klacik is following Trump's lead. What she wants is not to help the community but to get elected so she can take advantage of her position to benefit herself and is using lies (just like Trump) to accomplish it.

So what is her actual solution to the problem? She doesn’t have one.
