This gets my vote for best political ad of the year.

It is a good ad for a Republican candidate that fits in well with the Republican mentality, which is to shovel misinformation and BS that messes with the minds of the ignorant!

First of all, there is nothing in the ad that says how she would change the problems in Baltimore. Words are cheap but no actual and real solutions were offered. The problems in Baltimore are not because of Democrats but because the people of Baltimore are poor and they have a large Black population that by the very nature of the United States, Black people have less opportunities to advance, make less money and are more oppressed than Whites. That is not a Baltimore problem but a U.S. problem.

The Democratic party's platform is for higher wages, more income/color/gender equality and more programs to help people accomplish more. Implementing this would help the people in Baltimore. Unfortunately, this costs money, it takes more taxes, it calls for more involvement in the community and that is not what the Republican platform is all about. Republicans are for lower taxes, less help from government and for individual advancement. How can any of that help poor Black people in areas where few jobs of any consequence are found.

How in the world can Baltimore (or any other city in the U.S. with a high Black population) ever get out of their problems if no money is spent to improve their conditions. Spending money is not something the Republicans are for. The Democrats are for that.

As such, the ad is good but it is exactly what Trump is doing, which is conning people. It is evident Kim Klacik is following Trump's lead. What she wants is not to help the community but to get elected so she can take advantage of her position to benefit herself and is using lies (just like Trump) to accomplish it.

The problem with your argument, is that Democrats have ran Baltimore for the LAST 53 YEARS......POURING MONEY INTO IT....and nothing has changed....so now what?

She is certainly not the answer according to voters in her district... The ONLY reason this video is viral is because it is appealing to those outside her district (we know why). It makes good conservative porn but its not going to get her elected. She is grabbing her 15 minutes and then will be back to working the hospitality business and political commentary after the election.

What misinformation and BS are you referring to?

That's correct... The ad focuses on what the last 53 years of democratic leadership has yielded... and it ain't pretty.

Really? I guess that means that for 53 years they have elected people who had absolutely no power to act on their behalf. Well, I guess they should move to abolish that congressional district all together, disband the city council, and blame everything on Trump like every other democrat does for every problem on planet earth.

The democrats platform and the democrats actions/performance are 2 different things. The democrats have failed Baltimore, something that is irrefutable.

No money is spent... LMMFAO

How in the world can you say with a straight face that the presentation of facts, which that ad was centered on, equates to being a con?

LMAO... The only con I see, is the one the democrats have perpetrated on Baltimore for the last 53 years.

Is the idea that this video will change the minds of 25-30% of the voters in this district that voted in the same matchup between candidates in April of this year?

I already told you in a previous response that she wasn't going to win the election. It takes years to change people's voting habits, but if they are going to change it's ads like this one that will do it.

And this get mine:

So tell me, what isn't true? Democrats NOT in control of Baltimore for the last 53 years? Baltimore, NOT in despair and run down?

What exactly isn't true?

The problem with your argument, is that Democrats have ran Baltimore for the LAST 53 YEARS......POURING MONEY INTO IT....and nothing has changed....so now what?

Many problems are difficult and some not solvable. We all know that for a fact.

I do know that money is always one of the basic things that is necessary to fix problems. Republicans do not throw money to solving problems of the poor. That is well known.

People in charge are also one of the reasons why things do not change and though I have no complete knowledge of the problems in Baltimore, it is possible that some of it may have been the people in charge. In that case, you get better people. Nonetheless, by the very nature of the Republican platform, a change of party is not likely to be a solution.

The ad by the lady would have been better if she had offered solutions. All she offered was blame and I know for a fact that throwing blame around never solves anything. It may uncover the problem but without offering solutions, you probably are just changing from bad to worse.

Another good one:

Where in my statement did I judge the truth of any of her statements? What I said was, this video is very unlikely to persuade voters in her district. She faced Kweisi Mfume in April in the special election and got 25% of the votes. 25%... She faces him again in November. The voters in her district don't seem to buy her platform of vague promises of "economic development", private health insurance, education "reform" (school vouchers), etc. It's the same ole GOP platform not even nuanced a little for her district.

There is a HUGE difference between being a youtube flash in the pan and actually convincing voters that you can solve real problems.

Grim, how old are you? You seem to have very little life experience.

Blame is never a solution. Blame may uncover the problem but it never solves anything if the person throwing the blame around does not offer tangible ideas to change things. Change for the sake of change often makes things worse. Case in point is Trump. He won the presidency because people were tired of the problems and wanted change and yet he has solved absolutely nothing and has made things substantially worse.

I do not have a full understanding of the problems in Baltimore but common sense would say that some of the people in charge have not done a good job. That is a people problem and not a party problem. Keep in mind that one of things normally needed to fix problems is money. Money for education, money for improvements to the community, money for generating more and better jobs, etc.. The reality is that the party platform of the Republicans never offers money for these types of things. They don't throw money to fix things, they throw money to make more money. They do not show any interest in fixing communities, they only show interest in helping individuals accomplish their own economic goals.

I don't have an answer to your question. Some problems are very complex and difficult to solve. I really don't know what the answer is. I do know though, that the Republican platform is not set up to fix this kind of a problem. I have never seen Republicans throw money into lost causes. They are ready to throw money to the rich to make them richer but I have never seen Republicans do anything to fix problems for the poor. Never!

Agree with that, maybe the next one will offer solutions, not just blame....but first rule about solving a problem, is defining the problem.

I can't remember ever seeing a better, more effective political ad than this one... It's an ad from Maryland congressional candidate Kimberly Klacik, who's running to fill Elijah Cummings' 7th District seat in Balitimore.

If every Republican candidate running for office in a major city ran ads like this, the political landscape would start shifting in democrat controlled cities like Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, Philly, New York, etc...

If you want to learn more about this woman, she did an interview tonight on the Ingraham Angle:

She's cute....but republicans hate blacks so what does she hope to achieve in the GOP? Remember Mia Love? She was sidelined by the GOP during her entire tenure in congress and accomplished absolutely nothing for her district or blacks.

President Trump Condemned Baltimore as 'Disgusting.' His Administration’s Policies Aren't Exactly Helping

President Donald Trump slammed Baltimore as a “disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess” over the weekend in a series of racist tweets and suggested that he could fix the problems if only Democrats gave him a chance. “I am in a very beautiful oval shaped office waiting for your call!” he wrote on Twitter.

But in reality Trump’s positions on a range of issues have deepened challenges for urban communities like Baltimore to address some of their thorniest issues, from the poor air quality to continued lead poisoning. In turn, these environmental issues affect everything from crime rates to economic development.

Wow... If you actually believe that then you have problems I'm not qualified to even begin to address.

I don't have an answer to your question.

There is one question you have to answer, because it's based on a claim you made:

What "misinformation and BS" is contained in that ad, that you said "messes with the minds of the ignorant"?

It's true...Republicans hate and oppress blacks and that's why blacks overwhelmingly vote democrat.

It sure doesn't help your party when your president is a racist.

The Democrats being at fault is misinformation. It is the fault of some people perhaps, but Democrats in General? No? In the previous post I put a link to one of the main problems in Baltimore is the air quality there that has affected 25% of the city's population. Air quality is not something that the Democrats are in charge of. That has been the fault of whatever administration has been in charge over the past 53 years, and that includes Republican and Democratic Administrations. As such, not supplying that information is misinformation.

$600 million dollars have been spent in Baltimore by the Democrats, meaning that it isn't like the city has been forgotten. There have been attempts at solving some of the problems the city has. That information was not supplied in the ad and once again misinformation by excluding the information.

BS is blaming one side for the problems. The problems in Baltimore have existed for 53 years and that period of time includes 4 Republican and 3 Democrat presidents. The ad also did not include anything of that.

If republicans ran the blue cities, they would ignore the poor.

At most republicans would give the poor some advice like, "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps."
I used to go to NYC a lot in the Mayor Dinkins days. My regret is not vistiting it since Rudy cleaned it up. DeBlasio has fully restored NYC to the Dinkins standard.

All she did was show you the disgraceful parts of Baltimore that the local politicians don't want people to see. In fact, there have been billions of dollars poured into the very neighborhoods she walked through in that video, and they look like that? Suggesting she could do better isn't a very high bar to meet. When you consider that the democrats have controlled that city for more than half a century, what exactly do the people of Baltimore have to lose?

The word that comes to my mind when describing this ad is not "pathetic", but "devastating"... Devastating to the democratic party. They should be ashamed of what their 53 years of leadership has yielded. This ad hits the democrats right between the eyes because it uses facts to highlight their incompetence and governance failure, which is why since late last night the ad has gone from 5 million views on Twitter, to more than 6.6 million this morning. More ads like this are what's needed to get black people in the inner cities to finally wake up and understand what voting democrat has actually gotten them. More ads like this = More black voters leaving the democratic plantation.

.

As an add to build awareness of poverty , fine. As a political add for a person to get themselves a position in government it is a ****ing disgrace. She gave not one hint as to how she would do any better. All she did was complain about the way the present elected is doing. One would think that the people of that city are well aware themselves of what she talked about. And they are the voters she is appealing to. If i was a voter there i would want to know what she will do not what she thinks is wrong.

Full of statistical BS. The poorest counties in the country are Republican controlled.

What solutions do Republicans offer Blacks in Baltimore? Lower taxes? Cutting welfare? Ending ObamaCare? Supporting police brutality? More guns in the community?

Give me a break.

Down in conservative land after Republicans slashed the budget and gave away tas cuts, schools can't even stay open 5 days a week

With state budget in crisis, many Oklahoma schools hold classes four days a week

Are you factoring in cost of living in your statement? Because just comparing flat income across the board is lacking proper understanding of the issues.

The Democrats being at fault is misinformation. It is the fault of some people perhaps, but Democrats in General? No?

She didn't say that all the problems in Baltimore are the democrats fault. She merely showed the results of their leadership.

Here's what she claimed in the ad about Baltimore:

has a crumbling infrastructure
many abandoned homes
high poverty
high crime rate
it's been run by the Democrat Party for 53 years
is one of the top five most dangerous cities in America
the murder rate is 10 times the US average
poverty rate is over 20%
homicide drug and alcohol deaths are skyrocketing
vast majority of crime in the city perpetrated against black people
black people make up 60% of the population

Those were the claims she made... Do you disagree with any of them?

Everything else was her opinion, like when she said the Democratic party has betrayed the black people of Baltimore and that the worst place for a black person to live in America is a democrat-controlled city.

"Democratic Plantation" is right. Long-term and perpetual welfare is the sugar coated poison pill that Democrats used to pretend that they're friends of black Americans. What was it LBJ said about securing their votes for the next 200 years? With "friends" like that...
