Thinking of launching a Centrist website as a hobby

Someone reminded me today of a website I had dormant. I got home and started working on its Framework. Looking for feedback as I will update the board with my progress.

The 24/7 News section will be automatically refreshed via RSS.








The website will be similar to this:

I shared this on another thread. I think part of the reason that my website failed is that I have the type of mind that focuses only on flaws (my job). Is easy to find flaws in both left and right movements.

My hope is that I will run into someone that knows how to talk in a political language, I don t have that, my strength is with numbers and finding holes in theories. That will get you not that far into a debate.

So once is completed, if anyone is interested in writing about solutions to controversial issues from a moderate point they are welcome to write it. I will post it anonymously.

or you can write from the left a specific topic, someone else can write the opposite view. Conversation between fractions can lead to learning.

This project failed before -> it was getting too expensive to maintain in previous years, however. I will give it a try again. Even if failed I used to have around 50 users daily. Most were family members. That did not pay the bills for the hosting. And if I start losing money a few months in a row I shut it down.

In terms of length of articles, the timing of the opposite view being posted (at the same time). Here you can have 2 opposite views sure but mostly is determined via quick exchanges. To write an article takes time and you have to do your research.

I did have 2 students write 2 articles for me when I first started -> about Singapore's left and right-wing movements. I can't find that one too as I could only recover some files.

If my website was up and running now, I would have 4 people writing 4 opposite views:

a) Pro-abortion
vs
b) Pro-life

c) Pro-Leak of the document from the Court
vs
d) Anti-Leak of the document from the Court

How many words are you looking for? 700 to 1000 as in a newspaper column? Longer more scholarly pieces with citations? Do you have guidelines in mind?

I think we all have a lower attention span due to technology. People don't want to read something very long, they get bored.

I am serious. I know some website design if that's something you would want any input/help with as well.

This just popped up in my mind today. Right now I am hosted by GoDaddy (WordPress) however they are scammers, they charge so much is not even funny.

So I will say 1 week as the timeline however if I decide to move the hosting I will give a bit more time.

My main feature will be a 24-hours AUTO NEWS update. It will connect automatically to RSS news services of the world, select only the trending ones and display them on a counter.

You know how you go to a hockey game and you see the scores constantly refreshing? That's what I want to build.

Ok, I will see how things go, unless I get very busy with work I will try to make the timeline.

The only issue is I am having trouble finding the CSS file (I had a text file) which is the exact style of the website. I did so much work on that, and I am not finding it anywhere.

See if you can pick a topic other than abortion. Something about men talking about it bothers me.
