Behaving homosexually was accepted by pagan cultures. But for the Israelites and Christians it has never been an acceptable form of behavior. Homosexual sex is what made "platonic" relationships suspect. In fact, I believe that some "platonic" relationships have been mislabeled by the homosexual community in their efforts to be "normalized" as natural... I've even heard homosexuals try to label the relationship of David with Jonathan in the Bible as being "homosexual". I see it as a very close true loving relationship between very close friends. Nothing at all wrong with that. It's the sex that spoils friendships.I really think demonizing male homosexuality has really hurt our culture. Hear me out. We've made being gay over the past 50 or so years such a taboo to where men can't touch each other. And I know that that sounds weird because that sounds weird to me I was conditioned as well. And so boys out of fear of being called homosexual can't bond with one another I think this has led to a lot of them thinking they're girls so they can do this.
I remember being a boy in the mid-90s and one of the worst things you could be called was gay. Even if you weren't if you were a pigeon hold that way forget having a relationship with a woman.
You got young men so afraid to be absolutely platonically close to another man that they spend their entire lives alone. Watching porn because I can't meet women.
I'm not saying that's everything but I think that's a big contributing factor.
Maybe look at your views and evaluate them and see if they're really good for society. Currently young men are four times more likely to kill themselves than women. Something is absolutely wrong. And this is 1950s backward approach to Christian temperance is so incredibly anachronistic that is totally worthless it's more just fuel on the fire.
Because now you got little boys thinking they're actually little girls because they're so afraid to be close to other boys.
..... in a Husband and wife marriage relationship only. Got it?Okay, so it's perfectly fine then to have se for other reasons than procreation. Got it.
HappinessWhy would a husband and wife continue to live in separate houses?
No homosexuals did not make people suspicious. That's you trying to make an excuse for your rancid beliefs. Homosexual sex has been part of humanity since the beginning.Behaving homosexually was accepted by pagan cultures. But for the Israelites and Christians it has never been an acceptable form of behavior. Homosexual sex is what made "platonic" relationships suspect.
Yeah this has happened. In fact, I believe that some "platonic" relationships have been mislabeled by the homosexual community in their efforts to be "normalized" as natural...
Only the last 60 or so years. The previous 17,000 no.I've even heard homosexuals try to label the relationship of David with Jonathan in the Bible as being "homosexual". I see it as a very close true loving relationship between very close friends. Nothing at all wrong with that. It's the sex that spoils friendships.
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.No homosexuals did not make people suspicious. That's you trying to make an excuse for your rancid beliefs. Homosexual sex has been part of humanity since the beginning.
Absolutely, and heterosexuals have also contributed to such wrong views and opinions...Yeah this has happened.
The last 60 years have certainly been confusing. That's about the time Bible exercises were kicked out of school and other things began to replace it...Only the last 60 or so years. The previous 17,000 no.
Birth rates dropped as a result of abortion. Fewer men maybe getting married because it has become socially acceptable to play the field... It didn't happen as widely earlier because of the religious values of polite society at the time, and arranged marriages were the norm.Yeah it's totally The gays that did that. It did coincide at all with the concept of homosexuality being created in the freak out today happened as a result and it coincides almost precisely but that didn't have anything to do with it.
Look at what's happening. Fewer and fewer men in western culture are getting married the birth rate is dropping. You can blame gays for this but you'll have to explain why it didn't happen in the 1700s or the 1100s
Bible quotes don't fix your lie. Soon as you would do that when you're caught so this isn't really religion for you it's just something to hide behind.Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Genesis 2:21-24
21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
I'm not saying it said this grouper that group thing. It's an entire culture thing maybe people have said that because it might help people despise homosexuals less.Absolutely, and heterosexuals have also contributed to such wrong views and opinions...
I don't think this has anything to do with biblical values or the absence thereof because you'll go to the church and it's the same thing it's just as woke as the public schools. I think it's a cultural thing and I think the culprit is something other than not really but sort of kind of maybe a little bit changing our views on schools. The last 60 years have certainly been confusing. That's about the time Bible exercises were kicked out of school and other things began to replace it...
No birth rates haven't dropped because of abortion. Pregnancy rates have dropped you can't have an abortion if you're not pregnant. And no she were men are not getting married because they can play the field they can't. Mormon by the age of 30 today are virgins than ever before in recorded history. Religious values don't come into play humans have been sleeping around with each other since the dawn of Christianity. Just trying to hush it up to save face doesn't change what you used to happen what's happening now is different.Birth rates dropped as a result of abortion. Fewer men maybe getting married because it has become socially acceptable to play the field... It didn't happen as widely earlier because of the religious values of polite society at the time, and arranged marriages were the norm.
Either sex is only meant for procreation, or it isn't meant only for procreation. Pick one...... in a Husband and wife marriage relationship only. Got it?
Get ready for some Bible quotesEither sex is only meant for procreation, or it isn't meant only for procreation. Pick one.
Why would you be having sex with friends that are platonic? If you have to work real hard against the idea of having sex with your same sex friends you're gay.. Nothing at all wrong with that. It's the sex that spoils friendships.
It isn't a lie and I don't wish to compromise my faithBible quotes don't fix your lie. Soon as you would do that when you're caught so this isn't really religion for you it's just something to hide behind.
You are oblivious to the facts. Homosexuality was once punishable by death and that was more than 30 years ago. https://digitalcommons.unl.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1061&context=englishfacpubsThere has been homosexual men through all of time why is it just in the last 30 or so years that it's a problem?
Sex was created by GOD to be only acted upon between a Husband and his Wife, and in doing so, the couple would be open to the possibility of procreating a baby. Just because a Husband and Wife have sex doesn't mean that they will always have a child. I'm very sure that even in families with 8 children, that the husband and wife had sex more than 8 times... Today, we live in a society that has modern contraceptives, and still it relies on abortion to end pregnancies. This is a very indulgent, arrogant, self-righteous world we live in. And it only seems to seek additional rationalizations to appease its appetite for every sort of permissive behavior it can imagine and share without any remorse or shame.Either sex is only meant for procreation, or it isn't meant only for procreation. Pick one.
Why would YOU? You are the one who brought up the word! Or did you somehow forget the following remark you made: You got young men so afraid to be absolutely platonically close to another man that they spend their entire lives alone. Why would you be having sex with friends that are platonic? If you have to work real hard against the idea of having sex with your same sex friends you're gay.
The sex is for relationships and it helps those.
Nobody's asking you to compromise your faith. You just can't have it be the answer to every question. It makes you come off as stuck up, holier than thou.It isn't a lie and I don't wish to compromise my faith
I'm not talking about homosexuality. I'm talking about how are culture has made everyone so neurotic about homosexuality to the point plutonic friendships suffer. You want to make this about sex and being homosexual. And also I never blamed Christians it's a culture wide thing. You are oblivious to the facts. Homosexuality was once punishable by death and that was more than 30 years ago. https://digitalcommons.unl.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1061&context=englishfacpubs
I don't.Why would YOU?
So how did you interpret this to mean gay sex?You are the one who brought up the word! Or did you somehow forget the following remark you made: You got young men so afraid to be absolutely platonically close to another man that they spend their entire lives alone.
Well again I'm not blaming you. I'm talking about a cultural thing. I don't think it was your fault or even Christians fault. Sorry if I said it in a way that made you think that.I for one find NOTHING wrong with platonic relationships. A platonic relationship or emotion is loving but not sexual.
But the point is for some people having a baby is impossible say a woman has a hysterectomy for example. You should be as opposed to her getting into a relationship with a man as you are to me getting in a relationship with a man to be logically consistent.Sex was created by GOD to be only acted upon between a Husband and his Wife, and in doing so, the couple would be open to the possibility of procreating a baby. The bearly church fathers were not fans of marriage or sex overall. They were of the opinion that everyone should be celibate. Tertullian and Gregory of Nyssa argued that marriage was bondage, and celibacy was freedom (ironically they were both married). Tertullian also argued that widows and widowers remarrying was adultery. Jerome argued that it is good for a man to never touch a woman, and for a woman to never touch a man, implying that even within marriage touching was bad, while St. John Chrysostom argued that celibacy was imitating angels, and that being a virgin is imitating the life of Jesus, that every Christian obviously should do. And Cyprian argued that "go forth and multiply" simply wasn't needed anymore because the Earth was full. The early church considered marriage a hurdle on the way to really prefered status: world celibacy. So if you go with early church rules you should never have sex, even within marriage it's evil.Sex was created by GOD to be only acted upon between a Husband and his Wife, and in doing so, the couple would be open to the possibility of procreating a baby. What one must consider is that what some Church fathers wrote and what the Bible has to say, are not one and the same. In the Old Testament for example; if a woman lost her husband, a brother or relative of the husband was to marry the widow to carry on the deceased's name. This is what essentually happened in the story of Ruth --where Ruth ended up marrying Boaz who was a relative of Elimelech (Naomi's husband), who would have been related to Ruth by way of Ruth's husband that died in Moab. And so Boaz became a Kinsman-Redeemer, though Boaz and Ruth loved each other. The BIBLE is the only absolute authority which overrides all other interpretations, as it represents GOD's Word. The Roman Catholic Church, with its pope is in many regards an apostate organization and I wouldn't regard it as authoritative except of itself. The bearly church fathers were not fans of marriage or sex overall. They were of the opinion that everyone should be celibate. Tertullian and Gregory of Nyssa argued that marriage was bondage, and celibacy was freedom (ironically they were both married). Marriage did not become a sacrament in the Western church before the Coucil of Verona in 1184. And the whole thing that a priest is necessary for a marriage wasn't codified before the Council of Trent 1563.
I am against only those relationships where either intended is of a different faith, and where the relationship between the two doesn't illustrate the original relationship concept as GOD created marriage originally. It isn't a matter of what you or I want. It is entirely a matter of what GOD intended. Marriage is GOD's illustrative representation of CHRIST with HIS Church. And so marriage should NEVER be taken likely, and as such GOD hates divorce. But the point is for some people having a baby is impossible say a woman has a hysterectomy for example. You should be as opposed to her getting into a relationship with a man as you are to me getting in a relationship with a man to be logically consistent.
Now if you said you opposed same-sex couples because God said so if you're not trying to connect it to procreation that would be more consistent less rational but more consistent.
I it seems trying to connect it's to procreation only sometimes just when it's two guys are two women is you trying to make a rational point out of something that isn't rational outside of a religious context.
I do not interpret a platonic relationship as homosexual nor heterosexual. It's non-sexual. It's a friendship. Thank you for your clarification.I don't.
So how did you interpret this to mean gay sex?
this is what I'm talking about
Well again I'm not blaming you. I'm talking about a cultural thing. I don't think it was your fault or even Christians fault. Sorry if I said it in a way that made you think that.
And we thought gay frogs were bad! He's going to need an extra shipment of tactical wipes clean himself after this.
Is it "very indulgent, arrogant, and self-righteous" of a married couple to use birth control?Sex was created by GOD to be only acted upon between a Husband and his Wife, and in doing so, the couple would be open to the possibility of procreating a baby. Just because a Husband and Wife have sex doesn't mean that they will always have a child. I'm very sure that even in families with 8 children, that the husband and wife had sex more than 8 times... BUT GOD IS the answer. And why should an ATHEIST be able to always fall back on his Marco-Evolution and Scientific interpretations of data. Isn't that essentially the very same thing. Are they not "stuck up."Nobody's asking you to compromise your faith. You just can't have it be the answer to every question. It makes you come off as stuck up, holier than thou.
Personally, I am of the opinion that birth control is dangerous because one is playing with hormones. And I simply cannot believe that such is not without possible health consequences, as with abortion. Is it "very indulgent, arrogant, and self-righteous" of a married couple to use birth control?
Not all birth control involves hormones.Personally, I am of the opinion that birth control is dangerous because one is playing with hormones. And I simply cannot believe that such is not without possible health consequences, as with abortion.
