Except for the fact that there is no evidence that the shutdowns have been worse on mental health than just allowing the pandemic to ravage through the population without taking any precautions or actions to curtail it. Pandemics will cause mental health issues to go up because people dying in greater numbers than normal, from a virus will cause more guilt and depression and problems with loved ones who prematurely lose loved ones or face health crises themselves, or who face other economic factors. The world was always going to face hardship with this sort of situation.

The difference is still trying to compare a time without an ongoing pandemic and with one, especially one with such a huge impact on our world as a whole, not in isolated areas, and the difference between mental health impact with precautions taken (such as forced shutdowns, wearing masks, reduced social contact) and no precautions taken, just having the pandemic, or anything in between.
