There is no real progressive wing in the Democratic party.

The Democratic party is where progressivism goes to die. What other way is there to say it? Nina Turner, the fiercest progressive fighter in modern history, had one progressive endorsement 24 hours before the race (excluding Bernie Sanders in the Senate). Don't shoot the messenger. The Squad that has supposedly turned the Democratic party into 'extremists' were silenced by the Progressive Caucus (which endorsed the corporate incumbent) and Democratic leadership.

People think the abortion issue is going to turn out the vote. I think there's a good chance it could lead to apathy.

Progressives need the structure of the Democratic Party to function. We all saw the hilarity that ensued when they were left to their own devices at their convention in 2019.

Which means there is no functional progressive vehicle outside of grass-roots movements that go around the two party system. Did you watch the video? The Justice Democrats were how progressives could even survive in the party with a modicum of power, and they left Nina Turner to effectively die on the campaign trail.

Time-stamped this time:

Grass roots is why the convention was a total disaster. No organization, no structure, total chaos.

So sick of these stupid attacks on democrats. REpublicans are shit, period. THey do nothing. Period. They block any attempt for dems to do antyhing. Unsure if they would ever get anything done since they always need at least some republican to cross line and they are all complete party hacks. Even if they get a 60 majority, they always have some democrat who is basically a republican going along with republican.

ANd the moron US keeps electing do nothing republican assholes. And now we are facing Taliban rule with this court, the election rigging and voter suppression laws being passed, the stack Fed court of Trump hacks like his SCOTUS hacks, and all the anti gay and trans laws

We did? I don't remember that hilarity. Was it something like Trump Junior's pole dancing girlfriend blurting out "The BEST is YET to COME" to an empty room?

The convention was recorded. You can watch it yourself on YouTube but prepare for side-splitting laughter.

As opposed to what we have now.
Which is progressive candidates leveraging the Democratic Party’s structure and resources because they otherwise don’t have a chance in hell of clawing their way out of obscurity?

The progressive candidate won this primary with two-thirds of the vote! Take the W.

Look, watch the video or don't. I really don't care what your choice is.

Why don't you tell me what you saw as the hilarity.
For example, trying to accommodate everyone’s “triggers” was hilarious. Much of the time was taken up by “point of personal privilege” objections to pronouns, gendered language, whispering, clapping instead of jazz hands, “aggressive scents,” voice volume, etc. The list of absurdities just goes on and on. And don’t even get me started on what happened when they finally tried to vote on measures. 😂

"Progressive" Shontel Brown.

So it would have been in their interest to have some idiot pretending to be Charlton Heston in The Ten Commandments. Got it.

It would have been in their interest to define and circulate the rules and agenda beforehand. Instead, there were no rules, there was no agenda, and they tried to do everything ad hoc. Because in some corners rules and order are for The Man not for comrades. You had delegates objecting to the presence of other elected delegates from other districts and unilaterally replacing them with someone else. There were objections to basic process and procedure and whether or not the delegates should be voting at all. So they went down the path for every issue of trying to vote on whether or not to vote. It proved impossible to maintain order let alone accomplish anything since just when you thought the “trigger” nonsense was over it started up again because someone was always offended by something and had a “point of personal privilege.” Then it was like the movie Inception as “personal points of privilege” were shouted out in response to other “personal points of privilege” with objections to objections to objections.

Charlton Heston would have been a blessing.

Da Joooooooz.

You also snipped the flood of GOP money that came to support Shontel. You can't use anti-Semitism accusations as a blanket shield against corruption. That's what cowards do. You're not a coward, are you?

I’m not an anti-Semite trying to promote a da joooooz conspiracy theory as an explanation for why your candidate was a big fat flop. And I’m not going down that rabbit hole. Nina Turner had a terrible reputation even among progressives because of her shady leadership of Our Revolution. That’s all.

Israel does not represent Jews. That's an anti-semitic opinion. I don't consider Jews pro-apartheid as a group, but apparently you do.

What Napoleon is literally saying:

Israel = Jews
Jews = Pro-Apartheid
Criticism of PACs that favor pro-apartheid corruption = anti-Semitism

Notice how Napoleon zeros in on the Israel PAC money and not the GOP billionaire / Oil donors that flooded Shontel Brown's campaign?

Anyways, keep at it. This has zero impact on anything other than exposing the modus operandi of corporate moderates.

The political left has always been antisemitic, because they hate capitalism and Jews do very well under capitalism, so they make the connection Jews = capitalists. Marx (who was an ethnic Jew himself) hated Jews, as did Fourier, Proudhon, Stalin, and others.

As curious a comment as that is... I have never associated the Jewish people with money and control as you apparently have. They've generally been allies of the progressive movement, along other minority communities.

I do know that the right-wing's hatred of Hollywood, and many of the conspiracies surrounding immigration, are predicated on Jews wanting to replace the white Christian population. When right-wingers were marching and chanting, "Jews will not replace us!", it was in reference to this replacement theory. Not that the Jews will replace white Christians, but that Jews will import immigrants to replace white Christians. Jews have historically been very liberal/progressive, and their impact on culture, comedy, media has been very positive for the progressive movement -- which is why things like QAnon were invented, to rebrand blood libel.

In addition, the Evangelical prophecy regarding Israel -- the very predication for right-wing support of Israel -- is very, very problematic. Maybe you should read it.

Anyways, I'm happy that moderate (corporate) Dems have found allies such as @aociswunderdumho.

Gee, funnily enough the political right has hated them for the exact same reason. Hitler, Antonescu, the Black Hundreds, the Vichy regime and Anti-Dreyfusards, Father Coughlin and the isolationists in the US, and others.
