Not only is there a far right, it is currently dominating American politics, and has corrupted our democracy.
It is powered by our record inequality it has caused, as it takes nearly all the money for itself.
It has corrupted our democracy to allow that money to be used for buying public opinion and elections. It has used that money to create an army of minions, including a lobbying system most Congress people and staff enter when they leave office, making them serve it while in office.
It has completely bought one of the two main political parties, which currently holds the presidency, the Senate and the Supreme Court, and recently had the House, despite a majority of the American people disagreeing with them.
It has a massive machine it uses to keep control, which includes so-called 'think tanks', that lobbying system, massive media operations, voter suppression, Gerrymandering, and much more. It's the Republicans who have radicalized, and the country has normalized the radical right. Bernie Sanders - the most 'left' - is traditional American policy, an FDR type politician.
