That's not "discrediting" SS - it's a fact. Ponzi schemes take money from new investors to pay older investors. That's what it has been ever since Lyndon Johnson opened the "lock box," leaving almost nothing in the Trust Fund but IOU's. It's working, so far, but - like all Ponzi schemes - it'll collapse unless something is done to save it.

"Disrupting" is not "killing." People who make their living working for the Social Security Administration don't want it to be messed with. They like things just as they "always have been." But that means things like the cave where there are so many paper records that it takes 9 months to complete a SS retirement process. It means things like millions of records that have no correct birth date in a database that's used by other agencies to determine eligibility for their benefits.
