Pretty intense. A NY theatre pulled the trailer for United 93 after recieving several complains from moviegoers not expecting to see the trailer before their movie.

I'm not sure how i would feel either going into see a movie and not being prepared for that preview. I'm def. going to see the film, but as far as an unexpected trailer...tricky.

What is there to complain about? When the X-Men 3 trailer popped up unexpectedly I didn't complain.

Since when did you ever know what trailer was going to be run before the movie?

A tv 'docudrama', which was both re-enactments and interviews with the family members has been done and done quite well. This movie, while I don't know how it is in its entirety or scope, just seems to me to take a national and personal tragedy and exploit it. The wounds are raw-it's been less than five years. While I would venture to guess no one was portrayed without permission, I don't know how they'd give permission when this has been pretty well covered more than once. What's next? "Twin Towers-Raging Inferno?" I'll pass.....
The trailer, btw, has been shown on AOL and it's nothing more than any other movie trailer-hence my thought that the movie is probably exploitative.

I've seen some behind the scnes stuff for the said film and it's not exploitation. It tells the story of those on board the flight and the courage it took for them to do what they did. The producers and directors even got PERMISSION from the families to do this.

Kind of what I figured and made the assumption of previously. I just don't see what yet ANOTHER film, documentary, docudrama, whatever serves....

well, this was in a NY theatre and many of the people in that theatre may have lost someone close to them in the tragedy. I think it is at least important that someone know that that are going to potentially be viewing that trailer whwne they go into the theatre to see say, V for Vendetta. It stir emotions in people that are not stirred in say and X-Men trailer or a Syrianna.
