It’s a world exploding with crises waiting to happen. Donald Trump has made us less prepared for every one of them.

If you live in the United States, you are in greater jeopardy today than you were six months ago. So is your family. So are your friends and neighbors.

Virtually all of the most important parts of the U.S. government that were created to protect the U.S. from the greatest risks we face are being shut down, gutted, or marginalized.
Our early warning capabilities, our planning tools, our interagency coordinating mechanisms, and the resources available to the government to respond to crises have all been greatly diminished. This will remain true despite planned increases in defense and homeland security spending—especially as those resources are directed at illusory “invasions” and nonexistent “insurrections.” It will remain true despite—and even to a degree because of—costly and distracting displays of military and law enforcement muscle-flexing.

So what happens if we face a real crisis now?

Additionally, critical departments are headed by incompetent people with no real experience and they have surrounded themselves with loyalists. The American government has lost its institutional memory and experience which is vitally important in times of emergency or crisis.

We are less prepared and Trump is actually lighting the kindling and throwing a big log in there every once in a while.

Yeah, but he cusses good, talks at the fourth grade level so most people in this country can understand him, and owns the libs. So he remains popular with his base. What more does anyone want in a president? /s

Sure. Lots of things going on. But this hardship will strengthen us. Making us more resourceful, robust and creative. These are important tools which makes us more nimble and adaptable for handling future disasters that will surely pop up again from time to time. Use the US economy as a example. Far more resilient that what people thought. Face it. Democratic rule makes a county focus on the downtrodden and the underdog which no doubt help them but overall weaken the country. Republican rule focus on making the productive even more productive raising the standard of living for everyone and strengthening the country.

you may feel that Americans need additional and unnecessary troubles for some personal reasons of your own.
that's your thing. you do you.
but
I kind of feel like we should be using the strength, resourcefulness, robustness, and creativity we already have to protect ourselves
from unnecessary troubles because there are plenty of troubles we cannot avoid.
ymmv

The future terrorist attacks we get hit with because Trump shit up the gov't agencies that keep us safe will "strengthen us".

Sure.

That's all that matters to MAGA.

They'll drown in their own blood celebrating the downfall of "the left"

America is weaker than it has ever been.

Stupid Trump threatens and boasts revealing America's weaknesses.

He's committed to stealing Greenland and conquering Canada in his first few weeks in office. Let's see what other chaos comes as a result of his IQ of 4.

In just under half a year, Trump has isolated America, shunned and insulted its allies, and created friction with every country he's even mentioned.

He is shunned as stupid and over dramatic by world leaders who know what all experts know the assassination attempt was fake. Thus, no one is going to give him much room despite hsis empty boasting of 'deals, deals, deals."

The Truth is he is despised on the world stage. Leaders are polite to him to avoid a nightmare like Trump's hatred of Justin Trudeau (steeped in the words "we won't be pushed around"

Note. At the G7 there was a meet & greet where Trump shook hands with one leader and immediately launched into a diatribe of bitter resentment over Justin Trudeau from his first term nearly a decade ago.

Donald Trump is one very sick ****
