So I'm reading all this hoopla over Donald Trump being a douche to a Gold Star family because that family challenged him.
I'm not here to rehash the idiocy of chump. The only, ONLY rebuttal that matters to counter his stupid is to play the video of W. handling the Cindy Sheehan stuff. That was presidential (whether you like the man or not, or agree with him, that was a well handled situation) and Trump has not been.

What this thread is focused on, is the behavior of the people defending chump.

Starting threads attacking the family, posting crap from Breitbart and as much as I once liked that site, they are turning into the Media Matters of the Right, with their entire existence now about Donald Trump. Truth, honesty or manners be damned.

Which means there are posters here, people out there in the real world, all trying to defend the indefensible, and since chump is a completely rude, crude and vile human in his mannerism and how he handles himself... too many of his supporters seem to think this is empowering to them personally. Look at the attacks on Mr. Khan. Dirty. Dirty stuff.

Look at how maniacal chumps champs are! Every day that passes makes me more disgusted frankly, more despondent about the future of not just the Conservative movement, the GOP (I still harbor hope reason blossoms after Trump flames out) but for America.

People, Politics isn't about WINNING, it's about the better of America, not beating the "other side". If you lose your soul to "Beat them"...

What have we won?

I'll admit, I've been a hyper partisan asshole, maybe it's age, wisdom or other factors but... this is a level or terrible I cannot even fathom.

First of all Khan is not an innocent pawn in this game, second the only chance we have to make America better is to win. Win against Hillary. She is everything that is wrong with this country. If Joseph Mengele is the only Dr. That can cure your cancer you go to Joseph Mengele.

Trump has all along been appealing to the masses just to the left of about 107 on the IQ-"EQ" bell graph.

Some call it his strategy.

Others say it's just a happy coincidence he naturally appeals to so many there.

Whichever it is, the sad behavior is painting a picture of a really mentally-emotionally not so bright American "brain"-trust.

Regardless, as those considerably to the right of 107 on the chart distance themselves from him, his chances of winning decrease.

That leaves either Clinton .. or Johnson, should Trump's buffoonery result in his alternative, Gary Johnson, winning enough states to prevent Clinton from attaining the 270 EC votes required to win, much to the House's relief .. as the next Pres.

The odds favor Hillary.

Go Gary, go!

You just compared Trump to Joseph Mengele. And yet, you still somehow think that justifies the behavior of his supporters.

IMO only extremist supporters think Trump is the "solution to the nation's problems."

Many of us think of him as both a space holder who has little chance of doing anything at all (much less actual harm), and a shock-treatment for our current corrupt political system.

He has minimal support in Congress, unlike his opponent Ms. Clinton. So he can't do anything outside of the existing powers as President to enact any drastic reforms. Even then, whatever he does will last no more than four years (unless he has a heart attack before his term ends).

Electing him alerts the leaders of both major parties that enough people are frustrated by SSDD politics so that maybe, just maybe, they might self-reform.

Now I may not agree with the way Trump has responded to this latest outspoken citizen, but I don't see why anyone should be immune to counter-attack when they've attacked someone first. Perhaps some can see it as more "Presidential," but others might see things as we've had enough of people pretending to be Presidential while intending to screw us in the political backrooms when they attain office.

Who said anything about Trump being the solution to anything. He is the Repiblican nomine and as such the only one that has any reasonable chance to defeat Hillary. I don't care if Hitler himself was running, I'd be voting for him then. None of the screw ball plans Trump has will make it though congress but Hillay's corrupt liberal globalist BS just might. Not to the mention SC justices she would appoint to further erode the constitution, our rights and freedoms.

Well I can't explain that but for me there is only one reason to support Trump. To stop Hillary. Although yes I'm pulling that lever, it will be under protest. Too bad Bernie got screwed. I'm really not afraid of a Socialist President, a corrupt one is another story.

While I take an interest and comment on your domestic policy, I'm not ****ing worried about that, I'm an African, British Canadian, so I have a bit invested in quite a bit of the world and what your president does matters.

We've seen he can be goaded into doing really stupid things at the slightest provocation, he just questioned the US's commitment to defending NATO allies and he's proven totally clueless time and time again on current geo-political issues.

Him as commander and chief is absolutely unthinkable, supporting the man simply because of your precious guns is a bull**** excuse in my book.

Nobody's putting a gun to your head and telling you to vote for Trump. The man, frankly, has proven he's not fit to run a Little League much less a country. His supporters are even worse.

I wouldn't be fired up about voting for Hilary, but she's better then Trump. It'd be very hard to be worse then him at this point.

Well, your self-interest as a foreign national notwithstanding, we here in the USA decide who our "commander-in-chief" will be.

When you immigrate and assimilate here, your opinion can be matched by your power to vote.

Until then?

Meanwhile, perhaps convincing the deadbeat members of NATO into taking a greater personal interest in strengthening NATO instead of always depending on Big Brother Uncle Sam might be a more efficient way of expressing your political opinion.

When your country has the rights and freedoms we do then you can tell us how wanting to keep them is a BS excuse. As for NATO what exactly do we get out of it other than footing the bill and supplying the man power and equipment for everything?

He doesn't even have support of everyone in his party. How the hell do you expect him to lead an effective government?

I don't. I expect him at best to delegate or at worse to be obstructed on every issue. Although he might get us some better trade deals.

Well, just vote for Hilary and throw your integrity away, or vote third party and think you've somehow retained it. Sorry the choices are so grim, but that's where we are.

By stopping Hillary from making it worse.

That's not better, that's less worse. And if that's how you see things, you'd be better of with Clinton and a hostile congress, because she at least would negotiate to get things done, and some good may come of it.

Have you for one moment considered that this is precisely how the non-shippers feel about Hillary? This is an epic rant, but entirely off base. Your "movements", conservative and liberal, should be dead and buried. They are all about winning, and each under the guise of being about a "better America". Your characterization of Trump is all about the koolaid being fed you by the media and the opposition. You've so obviously drunk your fill.

And you attack anyone who doesn't buy the pap being spoonfed them.

Starting threads attacking the family,
1. Their status of having lost someone in no way shape or form exonerates or insulates Mr. Khan from what he said.
People thinking it does is the problem.
Khan's son is honorable. That does not transfer to the family.

2. Sheehans's actions are different from that of Khan's.
