Big question, in this context, how are we defining socialism?

Because there two definitions of socialism, one relates to social democracies and the other is the Marxist concept of the dictatorship of the proletariat that manages the transition between a communist revolution and a stateless, classless society. People often conflate these two things.

I am too cynical to be believe in Marxist socialism, I think darker aspects of human nature ensures it fails, but I do believe that social democracies have proven themselves in countries like Norway.

I like public health are systems one sees in Canada and Europe, but that doesn't mean I want the government to make video games.

The problem with socialism in general is that the government at large gets to pick and choose the funded "need" and course of action. And in most cases religious concerns are TOTALLY ignored or worse yet ------------- ELIMINATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And yet social democratic countries are often in the top when it comes to standard of living:

Also social democracies have freedom of religion.

Frankly in the US, relying on religious charity in the US to help with poverty is a crap shoot. There are some good churches, but there are some corrupt churches, like the mega church, with the pastor wanted to raise money to buy a jet for himself:

I guess his version of Jesus would congratulate the money changers in the temple, rather then kick them out.

That "ridiculous primitive" (as you referenced it) book of books, not only presents GOD as the ONE and ONLY at a time when every "sophisticated" culture (Egyptian, Chinese, Hindi, Greek, and Roman) imagined only gods, but eluded to THAT ONE and ONLY GOD as TRIUNE in nature. And not only that but presented this righteous and just GOD fulfilling the requirements of punishment and separation HIMSELF which demonstrates total love and mercy (unmerited favor) --- something even Islam cannot grasp.

So where did life originate? Can you prove this! Have you ever sought after GOD or do you simply live your life according to your standards and ignore the possibility? Have you ever had a heart to heart with GOD? Do you want GOD to exist or would you rather be on your own?

I believe that you have deluded yourself into imagining that GOD doesn't exist. And I feel that you are a rather smart individual who stupidly wants to exclude GOD so that you can live according to your own desires without feeling remorse.
